"This" and "that" and a couple of "Wonderings"... 😏😏😏

We wanted to get our Flu Shots, so I called our doctor's office.   "Not giving them yet, will put you on list."  OK.   (Now I think, that "means", they don't have them yet, but they would not say so...  *smile*)

So I called our pharmacy.  "Yes, we have them but running out, so come now."  And we did.   And we got them!

What they were running out of, was the "Regular Flu Shot + 'Old People's Flu Shot."  Which we need.   Our pharmacy was only one in town, with them.   So all other stores, were sending their people, to our store.   And they were down to about 20, when we were there, yesterday afternoon.   Interesting...

Anyone want their Flu Shots yet, and could you get them?

I made another Apple Pie.  This one, for our son next door's Birthday.  Our youngest "Grandson," next door, is completely "taken" with baking!!!   He has mastered cookies and cupcakes.   Moved on to baking a cake yesterday.   Next, he has to learn to make "Nana's" home made Pie Crust.   😊

This is not as easy as simply following a recipe though.   The ingredients of flour, a pinch of salt, and butter, are set.   But!!!!!!!   Knowing when you have "cut" the butter into the flour enough, is a learning process.   And!!!!   Then comes the adding of cold water, to make it ready, to form a dough ball.   That is totally, learning~by~doing.

Actually, I don't think he is quite ready for this, yet.   😊😊😊

*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

Had my 3 corduroy winter long dresses dry cleaned.   And, of course, the weather has warmed up a bit!!!  Just a bit.  And I can continue to use the non corduroy ones.

.........................................Wondering...

One of those things, I am *not* supposed to ask....

Hmmmmm...  Now do I have your attention?  😏

OK, what I am wondering is, why do Dear Bloggers have to use those Prompts?   Like "Hodge Podge Day" and "A Simple Woman's Diary" or whatever it was called...?  Etc.  Etc.  Etc.

I filled quite a large post here, with nothing but stuff going on in my life.   And my life, is about as Ordinary, as a Life can Get.  😊   I do it, every post.  Have never, never used any of those Blogging Prompts!!!!!

OK, I asked.   I was rude and not-a-nice-blogger and insensitive and a whole lot more things, I suppose.  😏  But, I really want to know.   Is it just, that when a New~Shiny~Thing comes along, and others start doing it, more people join in??????  Or do some Dear Bloggers, really need such Prompts?

No flu shot for me. I got it once and got so ill afterwards I almost wound up in the hospital! As far and the link parties go I just think they are fun! I know some people like to use them if they struggle to find things to write about, but the best part is they are a fantastic way to meet other bloggers and learn more about the ones you already know. I've played on things like this since back in my early days of blogging. They were even more popular back then. It's just a fun community activity :)

I was at my internist's office last week and got the senior flu shot. I might have waited, but she had it and recommended I go ahead and so I did. I use the Pink Saturday prompt for the same reason Martha uses prompts, fun. I like being on the lookout for pink things to photograph and I've "met" nice bloggers doing this.

I will be getting my flu shot soon. It has been a few years but hubby wants us both to get a shot this year. Your apple pie looks delicious! Chilly weather here but might be warming up again soon.

Around here, the Dr.s offices don't have Flu shots but all the Pharmacies and grocery stores do..Same with the shingles shots..Strange
There are a couple of Bloggers that I have "linked with "for years..I have several new followers because of that....I have never used them to find things to write about..I have a lot of trouble finding things to write about but I don't see how lining with some one else helps that problem...You can always read other blogs without linking to them??? Yes, I got my Flu shot..Will not get the virus vaccine !!!

Nicely, politely put my friend.

I enjoy MANY of the blog memes/parties. It brings a lot with common interest together to enjoy & maybe learn from those that link in.

Now, I'm curious- how old is your grandson who likes to bake. And such a precious toddler at the end.

What a pretty post you have today! Hmmm, maybe your grandson will become a baker, or even a chef! About the prompts, maybe some people do not want to reveal too much of their personal lives. And also, maybe some are just not too good at putting heir thoughts into words, so can use a bit of help?

I have to get the old people's shot too so I'd better get busy and find out if my pharmacy has it. That is wonderful that your grandson loves to bake! And so nice that they are your next door neighbors. For 16 years our oldest son and family were our next door neighbors and it was such a blessing to see two of my grandsons grow up dropping in on me all the time.

I've never used the prompts but I do enjoy reading the ones my blog friends take part in. I feel like I know a little bit more about them that way. I think I just don't like a deadline for myself. I did take part in one big Christmas party event with other bloggers one year and darn if I didn't work so hard to pull it off. Fun but I'd rather work at my own pace!

We got our senior flu shots from our pharmacy the first week of September. That was earlier than we would like, but we weren't taking any chances on them running out.

I forget, do you have to approve comments before they appear? I just submitted one and it isn't there.

Sorry, I see the notice now.

Will get our flu shots in the next few weeks. Martha explained the prompts really well. Its a fun way to meet new bloggers or build up your blog readership. I used to participate in them at times in the past but I always would want to visit all the blogs that were linked up and it could be time consuming, something I don't have these days.

I agree, the only way to learn to make pastry is to actually do it - even better if under the tuition of someone who knows what they are doing. I taught myself and it took me years to learn! It still got eaten though, LOL

We don't get a flu shot anymore and we've never had the flu. My parents due but I haven't heard whether they've had an issue getting them.

As for the 'prompts' many of those go way back in blog history. People liked joining and then reading what others had written. I think it was a way to find new blog friends.

I think its great that your grand likes to bake and yes it is a skill to make good homemade pie crust! I'm sure he'll master it one day!

I joined some of the prompts as a way to meet people, but even more to see photos of things I love. I seldom join one now because I don't seem to visit any of the others that join. But I really did enjoy them, and there are a few that I enjoy reading the answers to on blogs that I visit.

Your apple pie looks so delicious. Glad you got your flu shot. I got mine two weeks ago. The photo of the child is so beautiful.

Yummy oh yummy for your delicious pie and all the other goodies! I think the cooler weather is winning here --- at least for the week. My blankets and throws have had a workout! I have not heard of the blogging prompts. Sometimes when I can't think of anything to say... I don't write a blog! lol... and other times I ramble on some nonsense... It is up to the blogger I guess! Happy Fall... How do you get the little emojis of leaves and stuff in your posts and comments?

Hi! Haven't heard much from you in a bit, so I wanted to check in! Hope all is well, and you are enjoying autumn!
