πŸ’›πŸ‡πŸ’›The Good and The BadπŸ’›πŸ‡πŸ’›

Am happy with the Instacart ap on my smart phone.   Have tried 2 grocery stores, and the one in town, is the best choice.   Even in our "High Season", it only takes 10 min. to get there.  Happy to have validation, for getting a smart phone.

Have another appointment for a hearing aid.   One of our sons researched area places and this one, had the best reviews.   Hope this one works out.

The other son is getting our money back, from the first place.    This son will go with us, to the next appointment.  It is a Fact Of Life, that older people are targets for "bait and switch" and etc., etc., etc.    Really hate to admit this, but it has been proven, time and again.

Our Dear Daughter in Law had to phone and phone and phone and phone, to get a Security System to "let us go."  It was horrible.    But we are so lucky, to have family, to "go to bat" for us.

If you are a "Senior Citizen," you may well have had this experience, yourself.

πŸ’› Stress Test πŸ’›

(Link

Had heart stress test yesterday.

Got results today.

They are wonderful!!!

My stents (done 13 years ago) are still fine.

Pumping blood even better than normal.

We are happy!!!

πŸ’›

We wore our masks below our noses...

No one, not even my Cardiologist, said anything.

Even Medical people, are getting sick of this mask mandate.

🌼I've decided... 🌼

 Ya' know what...

I have decided to simply view our weather, as Summer.

Loving living in all 4 Seasons,

how can I complain,

when we have hot days in Summer?

Really...

🌼🌱🌼Set back...Sigh...Heat🌼🌱🌼

Had bad experience with first place, I went to, for hearing aid.    Soooooo,  a setback.    Hope to carry on with my quest soon.

🌸

Life continues to be thick, with health related appointments.   Guess we should be glad we are still "pottering along", and able to go to such appointments.   But it does get tiresome.

🌸

Loved "Murder In Provence" on BritBox, but sad it only had few episodes.   But enjoyed it enough, to think we'll watch them again.  Probably pick up clues, we missed, first time.

BritBox sent me a list of suggestions of similar shows...  Which we will have to try.

🌼

Very hot temps....   Glad we have wall a/c units....

🌼

Europe having similar heat spell and they do not usually have a/c.    Wondering why well off Europeans do not get even a window a/c unit for bedroom, so they could at least sleep....

πŸ“πŸ“This and thatπŸ“πŸ“

I get illustration suggestions, in e-mail, and these were just so sweet.    Not really any theme here, but they are adorable, to me.    😊   The one below, reminds me of those Jell-O and fruit salads, of the 50's.  😊

Next week, I have an appointment for a hearing aide!!!  Whoooo-hooooooooooo!   I'm finally doing it, and my family is ecstatic!!!!  -grin-

πŸ“

I now have looked at both the Old and the New "Lucia" shows on Britbox.   The newer one, had a lot more money spent on it, so it is much more slick and full-of-things and action.    Though I like the performances of both the actress who play 'Lucia'...

πŸ“

I much prefer the performances and acting of all the other characters, in the Old version!!!    All of them, other than the 2 'Lucia' actresses, are so much more to my liking.   Especially  'Georgie' and 'Major Benji'!

πŸ“

Loved "Mrs. Bradley Investigates" but there seems to be only one, on Britbox.   There were 4 made.  I'm looking to get them, from the library.     This stars Dame Diana Rigg, always a joy, and one of the "Midsomer Murder" inspectors, when he was younger.

πŸ“

Again on Britbox, we tried "Silent Witness" but it is too depressing.    Also tried "Murder In Provence" and this is a winner.

πŸ“

So, this and that, for a Saturday...

✨ Here we go... ✨

 Here  we  go...

Our city is a visitor destination, all year long, but now 'till Labor Day, it "bursts at the seams," with visitors.   I call it "High Season."

When locals use the back streets, instead of the main streets.   And no matter, we have to be watchful for people, who just don't know where they are going.  And people who are in a terrible hurry!!!   -sigh-   -grin-

🌸🌸Lucia!!!!🌸🌸

Do you "know" LUCIA?????

If not, please click HERE and find out.

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

When our daughter was in her teens, I read about "Make Way For Lucia" and got it for her.  Of course, I read it myself and came under 'Lucia's' spell.  And I still am.

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

The first 'half' of the book is set in one English town, and the second half, is set in another.  In the second half, she encounters 'Miss Mapp'.

What are these books, all about?  Please click Here, to read a lovely review.

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

This is the first tv adaptation, which I love, and am able to see again, with Britbox.  (Dear
Ginny asked the cost of Britbix... $7 a month)   Have yet to watch the more recent tv adaptation.  So can't judge that...

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

'Back in the day' as the saying goes, I was on a net group, of lovers of all-things-'Lucia'....   Those in the UK would sometimes meet up.  I couldn't do that, but it was great fun.  Would love to find something like that, on the Net, again.  Must Search!  😊

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

Soooooo, if you have read "Lucia" books, or seen the tv adaptations,  please tell me!!!!!!!

πŸ“πŸ“ Learning "SMART" πŸ“πŸ“

Our tv died.  I think we had it for over 15 years though, so that was good service.    Ordered one on line, and our next door son and grandson picked it up for us.  Then the fun began...!!!!
πŸ“

It took both of our sons, and a grandson and a grand daughter and her fiance...    To try to get it all hooked up and working.   πŸ˜“
I wanted a Smart tv.   Mmmmmmm, would have been much simpler, if I  had gotten a *not-Smart* tv.   But it has worked out well.

πŸ“

We have had Prime Video, for our tablets.   Our Grand daughter got Britbox set up for us.    And now, we watch all those things, on our tv screen!!!    Not just on our little tablets.  Super!!!!!
πŸ“

But learning to work the new Smart tv....!!!    This has been a real learning curve for me!!!!  Yikes!!!!!!
πŸ“

With Prime and Britbox, we have soooooooooooo many things to choose from, now!!!!

πŸ“

With so much *streaming*, to watch, will we drop cable and regular tv?  Not yet.   There are still a few things, we want to watch on regular tv.  A few shows he watches.   And my horse racing and Bucs football.   But if we ever want to, we are all set, to use only streaming services.

πŸ“

Do you have a Smart tv and was it a JOB, learning, how to work it?????

πŸ“πŸ“EarlyπŸ“IGπŸ“πŸ“

It's a beautiful summer day, so far.  We went to grocery store early!    And came home to have our coffee/decaf.  Delightful to get errands done early.    Actually, as summer progresses, it will be more like absolutely necessary, than just delightful.
πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“
Our city is a "Summer Destination" and when out-of-towners fill the streets, it is not fun driving.

πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“
Well, it's not fun driving at all any more.   So many cars!    So many unknowns to deal with.   (Like "Will he really turn here?"  "Watch out for that one, weaving in and out, of lanes!"   "She's going to run that Stop Sign!"   Etc.)    Ughhhhhhhh...

πŸ“

After having followed a few Instagrams on 'The Royals'...   I love Catherine and William...  Watch Meghan/Harry for *Drama And Circus*, as I saw one person put it.  LOL

I'm going back to pretty English IG's.   I especially love tiny English Gardens as they call them.   Here, we call them Back Yards, with grass.   And the places, where we grow food or flowers, we call the Gardens.

In tiny English (back yards) gardens, they often don't have grass to mow, opting more for paving stones.   In these tiny spaces, a place to sit and not many flowering plants, make a pretty display.   Add a spring flowering fruit tree, for some shade....

The tiny size makes it more easy to take care of.  And not that many plantings, can make it delightfully *faux-crowded* and lovely.
πŸ“

All Instagrams are *Eye Candy*.  😊  No one pictures anything, which is not pretty.  And some, are over-the-top pretty.   Soooooo...   All Instagrams are *Eye Candy*.  😊

πŸ“

Do you agree?

🌸🌷🌺 I'm sad...🌸🌷🌺

(Source of all illustrations)
I'm sad, that I seem to have let my Blogging Life go...  During these last few weeks of health issues around here.  Life has become very busy, in different ways.  And Blogging has fallen by the wayside...
Which is sad for many reasons.

🌸

Our Blogging Life's Connections can be very important in our lives, especially with age.  One can "travel" on the Net, when it becomes difficult, to do so, in reality.  I really don't want to let it go, any longer.

🌸

Even if I can't always leave a really *good* comment on blogs, every day...   Even if at times, I can simply read and leave a comment of "Gentle hugs" and 🌸🌷🌺 ...   I know you Dear Readers will understand, and it will be enough.

🌸

Soooooo, with luck, I'll try to return to Blog Land.  Doing it, how I can, each day.

Thank you ahead of time!!!   Because I know, you will be fine, with this arrangement.  😊

🌸🌷🌺

πŸ””πŸŽ‡πŸ”” Would we be.....? πŸ””πŸŽ‡πŸ””

Happy 4th of July!!!

Please take a few moments,

to dwell on,

the bravery of those ordinary people,

who took up arms,

against the British Army.

And consider,

if we today, would be brave enough

to do that.

~ ~

How very brave they were!!!!!

How much we owe them!!!!!!

 ~ ~

Comments off today.

Go and enjoy a wonderful 4th of July!

😊 🌞Not yet...!🌞 😊

Friday was a beautiful day, which followed a late day and night of torrential rain.  In the morning, it was as if the world had been washed clean.    We had sun, blue skies, white clouds and a breeze.  😊  But!   It was like a lovely day, IN  SEPTEMBER!!!!!
It's too soon, for September!!!!  It's too soon for, as the illustration above is titled, "Late Summer Garden"!!!

I have seen pictures of fallen leaves... πŸ‚  Someone saying how lovely a fireplace will be, with coming cooler weather...  πŸ”₯ People feeling their "heat~of~summer" is over... 🌞 Etc.

Granted, thinking about Autumn, is delightful.   But, not yet!!!!   πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚   How do you feel about this????

✨ πŸ’›Pretty~Fun~????πŸ’› ✨

I just adore this illustration!  Some may remember, that I have used it before.  😊  I love the style.    The soft, very feminine main Faerie...  Her golden hair and flowers in it, and on her gown...    The balance of the light green grass below, with the dark blue sky and moon above...  ✨✨✨  Not necessarily the "Message" though...........

✨✨✨

The other day I got a nail polish, which is so very, very soft pink...  That it is nearly while.  πŸ’…   And I like it!    But!  I learned the hard way, that one can not try to apply this, in a rush!!!!!!!!   πŸ˜•   Oppppsies!   The first hand turned out to be a mess.   Second hand, ok.   πŸ’…    Well...   'Live and learn' as the old saying goes.

πŸ’… πŸ˜• πŸ’… πŸ˜• πŸ’… πŸ˜• πŸ’…

Our weather seems to have changed, from hot/humid and occasional rain...   To cooler.   Which is nice, with sun.  Perfect really, with cool nights!  But today seems grey again.   πŸ’   Ahhh well,   really cool and really dreary weather will be here, soon enough...  πŸ’

πŸ’  πŸ’  πŸ’  πŸ’

Did anyone see the Meteor Shower last night????  🌠   Our Grandson told us, about it.   But our skies did not cooperate.  They were too cloudy...  🌠  It was supposed to be lovely, I guess.

🌠  🌠  🌠  🌠

“Everyone knows—or at least, was probably told as a child—that you can make a wish on a shooting star. Not everyone knows that the only way to be sure it will come true is to speak it aloud before the star disappears, and this is a nearly impossible feat to manage.” ~Kate Milford

❓❓How to...?❓❓

I know I keep showing pics of our front stoop planter, with the Tuberous Begonias.   They are doing so well, all by themselves!  My husband has not 'fed' them this year.  They love the shade.   And moisture.

Source
How do you, keep whites things white?  ❓❓❓  I used to use Clorox all the time.    Then my towels began to show holes "eaten" out of them.   Read, this can happen, from bleach use.   ❓❓❓ And my whites began to have a yellowish tinge to them.   An eventual bleach effect?    ❓❓❓

So, stopped using bleach.   And replaced the white bath towels, with gray ones.    But have still~usable white hand towels.   Which are pretty *grungy* looking now.  😞

Soooooo, please help!!!!    How can I safely get them white again❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓

I love this clear, ✨sparkly✨ float, the "Grands" got this year!  Pictures do not do it justice.  The blue pool water shows through.  And loads of ✨sparkles✨, seem suspended in it.   And when the sun shines on it........   The ✨sparkles✨ are amazing!!!!!  ✨✨✨✨✨✨

✨✨Escape?✨✨

I'm loving these lights~at~night illustrations.  Perhaps it's the effect of the Full Moon?

Perhaps they are simply lovely to me.

Or maybe they express a wish to escape from the *Weirdness in Our Beloved Country and The World*....

Whatever....   I adore them.

And I certainly want to live in them, for awhile...

✨✨✨✨✨

“No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality.”~Shirley Jackson

 ✨✨✨✨✨

“To live on a day-to-day basis is insufficient for human beings; we need to transcend, transport, escape; we need meaning, understanding, and explanation; we need to see over-all patterns in our lives. We need hope, the sense of a future. And we need freedom (or, at least, the illusion of freedom) to get beyond ourselves, whether with telescopes and microscopes and our ever-burgeoning technology, or in states of mind that allow us to travel to other worlds, to rise above our immediate surroundings.~Oliver Sacks

✨✨✨✨✨

“Humans had built a world inside the world, which reflected it in pretty much the same way as a drop of water reflected the landscape. And yet ... and yet ...

Inside this little world they had taken pains to put all the things you might think they would want to escape from — hatred, fear, tyranny, and so forth."
~Terry Pratchett, Wyrd Sisters
