πŸ’•The one where K. and K. got marriedπŸ’•

Our Granddaughter wore the necklace, which my husband gave to me, to wear, on our wedding day, way back in 1958.

I may be prejudiced but, isn't she beautiful?
Her hair was like "out of Faerie Land"...
The way he looks at her....

With her beautiful Mom...
With her handsome Dad, our son.
And another with her Dad.
And we are all so happy!  They are both beautiful, handsome, and great people.

And....  The Bride and Groom...  With us.

🌸🌸Lucia!!!!🌸🌸

Do you "know" LUCIA?????

If not, please click HERE and find out.

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

When our daughter was in her teens, I read about "Make Way For Lucia" and got it for her.  Of course, I read it myself and came under 'Lucia's' spell.  And I still am.

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

The first 'half' of the book is set in one English town, and the second half, is set in another.  In the second half, she encounters 'Miss Mapp'.

What are these books, all about?  Please click Here, to read a lovely review.

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

This is the first tv adaptation, which I love, and am able to see again, with Britbox.  (Dear
Ginny asked the cost of Britbix... $7 a month)   Have yet to watch the more recent tv adaptation.  So can't judge that...

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

'Back in the day' as the saying goes, I was on a net group, of lovers of all-things-'Lucia'....   Those in the UK would sometimes meet up.  I couldn't do that, but it was great fun.  Would love to find something like that, on the Net, again.  Must Search!  😊

πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“•

Soooooo, if you have read "Lucia" books, or seen the tv adaptations,  please tell me!!!!!!!

πŸ’› New 'Lady' in town... πŸ’›

 New "Lady" in town...

Of the Equine species...

Our City Police Dept. Horse-Mounted Team is getting a new member.  Our newest horse (she is called 'Phoenix') will soon join 'Apollo' and 'King Tut'.

"Animals can play  a really important law enforcement role, and they also can have a really positive impact in working with the public"  ...

Children love police horses so much that it's a special event when they go to visit elementary schools.   And many adults walk up to police horses, on warm summer nights, on Broadway, to pat them.

Of course, they are very useful on a practical level.  During special events and dismissal times, and sad to say, when too much drinking has gone on and the usual rowdy behavior follows.

If you have been reading here a long time, you might remember back, in early *damnpandemic* time, Police Officers on horseback, would ride around residential districts, so children (who had to be stuck at home) would be able to enjoy seeing them, ride by.

πŸŽπŸ΄πŸ’›πŸ΄πŸŽ

One "Nana" (you all know and love) enjoyed going out to see them too!!!!!!!!!!   -grin-

πŸŽπŸ΄πŸ’›πŸ΄πŸŽ

By any chance, does your local Police Dept. have a
Horse-Mounted Team?

πŸ’› Gotta' find some nice stuff... πŸ’›

Feel like this guy, without the "goodies" to eat.   Just the *mad* part.

Something stuck in disposal....    Utility wire down, across our driveway.....     Got disposal fixed.   Phone calls to get line fixed....

Discovered how to speak to live person...  Keep saying to 'computer' which answers...  "Don't understand."   Eventually it gives you to a live person, without the usual wait.

Possibility...  They are afraid of a "discrimination law suit," if they don't take quick care of this "Don't Understand" person.  LOL   All I know is, it works.

Looked up this date, on old, old blog.   Found these delightful photos.   From long, long ago.  "Pop" and our youngest grandson.   Guess he didn't feel too 'perky' that day, when we took care of him.   But he was happy to play with 'Pop.'

Sooooo, happiness, from long, long ago.

πŸ’› The sun still came up.... πŸ’›

As of right now, I am still having another Mental Health Day.   I have not looked at any *news,* and the sun still came up this morning.   And it is still shining.   And the trees are still standing.   And the snow is still on the ground.  ::::::::::  So, why do I feel guilty?<--Stupid.

Just finished making out my 'Groceries-To-Go' order!!!   Wheeeeew, what a long job!   I have to look for Gluten Free, on many things, which adds to the time.  ::::::::::   The site has a place, to check ingredients, one doesn't want in foods, which is very helpful of course..... Imagine reading all those labels, in the store!!!!   Eeeeeek!  Never want to go back to shopping, that way.  Just me...

Had to replace many items, and of course, the TOTAL PRICE is a horror.

Tomorrow night, in the State of the Union, will Uncle Joe tell us, how he is going to reign in INFLATION????!!!!?????   Yeah, if Hell happens to freeze over, during the day tomorrow.   😠

It's laughable, how little is worth watching, on tv, in the evenings.  So I finally ordered some Films, from the library.   Some Judi Dench of course!!!!  ::::::::::  I prefer seeing her, as herself.   Even though she made so many wonderful performances in films, in costume, etc.  Really wanted to see "Mrs. Brown," but it seems, someone stole it.   And the library system has not replaced it.  -Sighhhhh-
Oh but I really must find a way, to see it!!!!  😊

Anyone remember when we went to a Film Rental Store, to rent and see a film??????   Mercy!   How long ago, that seems now.

πŸ’¨πŸ‚πŸ’¨This and that and the other thing... πŸ’¨πŸ‚πŸ’¨

Our 63rd Wedding Anniversary was Nov. 8th.    We went out to eat, and when we got there, we discovered, that that restaurant was closed on Mondays!   Should have looked at their web site.   ~~~~    Soooooo, we went home and had delivered pizza.   LOL    We'll go out to eat, another time.   When it is sure to be open!   -grin-

Ginny said...  "...you make fall seem not so bad after all! You are like my little fall elf, spreading glitter every day." πŸ‚ 😊 🍁    Which was an adorable comment!     ~~~~      But today, I have some illustrations of the duller part of November.    Which we are all going to experience, eventually.

I am going to return my 4 library books, and probably not get any more, for awhile.   I have plenty of books, with my Kindle Unlimited subscription.   When I want to read, they are there.     ~~~~    My last library books were a 'bust,' too.   -sigh-       ~~~~   Plus, I have to do that ridiculous masking, to go in and get them.    All in all, it's just not worth it.

Finally "bit the bullet" as the old saying goes, and called "The Maids."  I'm just not doing the necessary housework.  Maybe if I get it all spick and span, I can get going again.

I like the saying, in English novels....   "She had a woman who comes and 'does' for her."   Love that idea.   But such women, are "scarce as hen's teeth," here and now.

🏊 Of chicksπŸ₯And heatπŸ˜“And pools🏊

Still playing with photos....   If you scroll up and down, between Header and this photo, which are the same....   You will see, that the posted one, is clearer.  The less photo size manipulation, done...  The clearer the photo.

🌹

Son and family next door, have 4 new chickens.   For 5 weeks, the baby chicks have been living and growing, on their back enclosed porch.  (In their own enclosed set-up.)  Finally, they are big enough to come outside.   But stay in their own "house-and run," for a while.    Before being allowed to mix with the "Old Girls."
🌹

We are to be quite hot, today and tomorrow, and heat continuing.    The pool will see much use!   The "Grands" and friends will be over, and it is wonderful!!!!  Way back in 1970, we put the Gunite Pool in.    And family/friends have enjoyed it, for 51 years.

🏊

"Are gunite pools worth it?"  .......

"...a properly built Gunite pool can and should last for 100 years or more, with no risk of cracking whatsoever."

"A gunite pool is perfect because of its amazing design versatility. These pools last the longest of all inground pools and often feature the best warranties. Gunite pools do not need wooden frameworks to hold the shape, so building is simpler than standard concrete."
🏊

Nope, we are not selling them.   Or getting any kick-back for saying this.    We just love, love, love our Gunite Pool!

Light refraction.... And.... ????? ✨😊 ✨

Sunlight, passing through a pretty glass.   I wish I could capture it, as I see it.    But that is not to be.  -smile-  My little camera can't do that.  And I don't use it enough, to be worth getting a new one.   Toooo expensive...

I/we don't mind spending money, on something, which is useful and adds to our quality of life.  But a new camera, at this time, does not fit those requirements.

Do you have specific criteria, for how you spend your discretionary money?

✨✨✨✨✨✨

Depending on how long, you have been "on the Net," are you sometimes reminded of something, from a rather long time ago?   I have been "on the Net" for about 25 years.  I've seen a lot, over that time.  And Net-met a lot of people, too.   Sooooo, what does a picture of a little dragon, have to do with this?????

Well, I remember a blog, or a Live Journal, or some form of Net communication.....   Belonging to a woman, who actually believed that she had a small dragon, living in her home.

Now please know, she had a good job, to which she was devoted.   She was not a recluse, who spent all her time, "in her own mind" as it were.   She "was out there," as well as at home.

But she also believed in dragons.

The small one, living in her home.   And on occasion, a large dragon, would stick its head in through an open window, seeming to be checking up, on the small dragon's well being.  She did not interact with the big one, if I remember correctly.

She also had a pet parrot, who used to be teased by the little dragon...   Or visa versa....  So she herself, was not the only one, who 'saw' and 'reacted to' the little dragon.

Soooooooooo......   Depending on how you "feel about" dragons, I guess you will have to decide for yourself, what you think about this.  -smile-   As for myself, I was fascinated!   My feeling...  Who wouldn't want to believe that they had a small dragon, living with them???  -grin-   I know!!!!!!!   Probably only me, and a very, very few others.

I wonder, where she and her dragon and parrot, are now?

✨✨✨✨✨✨

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes

the whole world around you

because the greatest secrets are always hidden

 in the most unlikely places.

Those who don't believe in magic

will never find it.”  ~~Roald Dahl

πŸŽ„MemoriesπŸŽ„

This photo above, and my present Header, are from way back in 2012.   When our youngest Grand son was a wee little one.    The Header is of him, and "Pop", playing with the little train, which went around the Christmas Tree.    πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„    And this photo above, is of him playing with toys.   Other than the old Disney movie characters little dolls (left over from older Grand daughters),  and the old cell phone which didn't work any more,  the rest of the toys, were made by my husband.  All of wood, durable and safe.

πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Another old photo, of Christmas decorations, back then...

πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

And our Christmas Angel, back then, but we still have her.
πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„   And I thought I would post some other pretty Christmas quotes, which I have not used yet...
