πŸ”₯πŸŒ²πŸ“•Already turning...πŸ”₯πŸŒ²πŸ“•

Per usual, I'm ready to turn the calendar page, even before a Holiday is over.  😊   So my Header changed, the morning of Thanksgiving.

My mind turns to the coming season of snow and snuggling inside.

Nature is very dull at the end of November.   We need a bit of snow, to perk the outdoors up.   Well, up in the North, that is.

And definitely need some whimsey!!!   A LOT of WHIMSEY!!!!

😊🌼Fun~"Smart"~Musing🌼😊

We enjoyed "Mrs. Brown," a Judi Dench film, as the widow Queen Victoria.   Fun fact....   A big part, in this film,  was played by the actor who plays "Lionel" in "As Time Goes By."   Billy Connolly is a wonderful 'John Brown.'  And Antony Sher plays 'Disraeli' marvelously.

I remember an article by Judi Dench, about the making of this film.   Billy Connolly is a wonderful story teller.   Nights, they would all sit around, drinking, and listening to him tell his stories, and laughing their heads off.    She said she would think.....  "I have to get up at 5:30am, to be on set....  Can I stay here, another hour, and still get up?"

They must have had a wonderful time, making this film!!!

Aug. 1st....  Kitchen sink cleaned....   Bathroom sink and bowel cleaned....   Before sitting down here, with the rest of my decaf.   😊  Sooooo proud of myself!  😊

I again think, I really need to take up "Fly Lady's" admonition, to clean sink before going to bed.   Such a wonderful...  brilliant even, idea!   So hard, somehow, to put into practice.    Do you???????   Always clean kitchen sink before going to bed?

And I should do necessary housework, early in the morning.    Well, not necessarily really early, but 'early,' after we have gotten up.   Morning is my 'perky' time, and I need to utilize it.  🌼🌼🌼🌼   Of course I know this!   But do I always do it?   -sigh-  -sigh-  -sigh-  🌼🌼🌼🌼   Do you have a "more perky" time of day?   And do you utilize it?

I'm really loving all these adorable, summer time, cute animal illustrations.   As you can see.

🌼🌼🌼🌼

Wouldn't you love to have a picnic, like this one above????  πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‹πŸ˜Š   With all those delicious 'goodies,'  which you have *somehow* made yourself!   And then, had the energy left, to pack it all up and go out in the country?

🌼🌼🌼🌼

And don't forget!!!!   There would be no admonitions to not eat all those delicious things!    It would be normal to bake them and eat them.  πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‹πŸ˜Š    Ahhhh, the so-called good old days.  😏

πŸ‘‘πŸŒ•Full Moon *Effect* ~~ RoyalsπŸŒ•πŸ‘‘

The*dreaded* Full Moon Effect may have gotten to me, even though I didn't pay attention to *it*.  Our front door handle came apart.   Our tv is *dying*.

πŸŒ•

I admit I had great fun, seeing all the Royal Fashions and Happenings (and bits of drama), during the Jubilee.

But.........

Things like Royals, parading in ancient costumes, for an ancient Garter Ceremony....

And Tiara wearing, at huge Banquets, seem a bit out of touch with our present world.

And I really can't take the curtseying...

πŸ‘‘

My views only, of course.....

As someone, not living in a country, with a Royal Family.

πŸ’œ πŸ’œ 'Glimerglass' πŸ’œ πŸ’œ

For some reason, the word "Glimmerglass" came into my mind.   I think it sounds lovely and mysterious and etc.

πŸ’œ

Looked up definition of it...   "Glimmerglass" ~   "The vibrant reflection of sunlight on a watery surface."

"Otsego Lake NY is called "Glimmerglass" in the "Leatherstocking Tales" of James Fenimore Cooper."

πŸ’œ

Somehow, those things, don't sound enchanting or otherworldly to me.

πŸ’œ

There!   That book cover art, says "Glimmerglass" to me, more than a lovely lake.   πŸ˜‰

I'm sure I have read this.    But perhaps it's time to read it again.

πŸ’œ

And this one too....  Delightful escape into the World of The Fey....

πŸ’œ

"Faeries, come, take me out of this dull world,

For I would ride with you upon the wind,

Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,

And dance upon the mountains like a flame!"

😊 1st Robin 😊 Views 😊

 Saw my first Robin, of the year, this morning!!!

🌟

I love the layout of the set used, in "As Time Goes By."  I love allllllll sets.   And this one, is quite easy to "see," as it were.   But I have never made sense of the upstairs.   Surmise they didn't care, if we can.

🌟

Can never reach wayyyy into my dryer, to retrieve something "stuck" in the back....    Without thinking of the awful scene, in "MM", where 'the busy-body' woman, is leaning into the hotel sized dryer, and the bad woman pushes her in, and closes the door and turns the machine on.   Brrrrrrrrrrrrr...   Remember that one???

🌟

Wish "Midsomer Murders" had less gruesome murders.  I love the beautiful English countryside scenes...  The interior of lovely old homes, both aristocrat and commoner, and the authentic pubs!!!!!!    But the murders!!!  Shudder...
🌟

Have you seen your "First Robin" yet????

🌟

🌸 Your pick... Right now...? 🌸

-smile-  I'm probably rushing the season...   With lilacs...   But I was considering what new candle scent to get.   Since I'm still using my "Autumn Kitchen" one.    It's still delightful, but........     It's coming time to get another scent.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love lilacs.   Their scent is lovely.   And they are such an old fashioned looking bush.   Delightful in every way.   More so, since we can no longer enjoy the scent of flowers, due to allergies.   -sigh-   No flowers in the house, of course.   -sigh-
~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Lilac Eau de Toilette is a delicate, fresh feminine floral that perfectly replicates the gorgeous aroma of the fleeting annual blossoming of this intoxicating flower."  (Link)

I have not had a fragrance in a long time.   I think it is time that I got one!   -smile-

~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you were going to pick a scent or a candle, which would make you happy right now, what would it be?????
😞 When you get tired of our winter... 🌞
From Clara's blog...
Many Bloggers are upset with the winter months, because of the lack of sunlight...   The days are naturally shorter and the nights are longer.   It is quite distressing to some.
In reading 'Wonderful Clara,' this picture above, and the accompanying words (some copied below), made me think!   Just look at winter months, in another country!
πŸŒ…
"January is the most difficult blog month. Still sad photo light but unlike in December no cozy lamps, crafts or decorations to document."
"And do you see that on the right? The sun cats on the wall? Screamed excitedly to the family - COME AND CHECK THE SOOOL! IT'S HERE AGAIN!
Because from the end of November to the end of January it can't get up behind the mountain. The whole house is in the shade. So once it returns, it's time and joy.
Everyone in the family has learned to look out for and pay attention the first time it happens. Folke ran and changed into a fine shirt to celebrate."
πŸŒžπŸŒ…πŸŒž
So, next time you bemoan how short the days (still) are...  Think of Clara's life in Sweden.  Where the whole house is in shade, from end of Nov. to end of Jan. !!!!
It puts our winter, into perspective.  -smile-
🐈 Fussy 🐈
Late last night, I was playing with my Blog Look.<--Never a good time to do anything, on the net!   Made a Background from a pic of a pretty rug.   Then.....   Couldn't find a big enough picture, for the Header.   Ended up with roses pic, which looked pretty funny.   ::::::::::::::    But couldn't do any more.
This morning, my brain was again working well, -grin-  and I took a picture of the painting over my computer desk, with some of my husband's carved ducks, on the desk top.  I am much happier with this....    Except.....
Except....   That the Header is too long.   I can't see the whole thing, when I come on line.   It is necessary to scroll down a bit, to see it.    And this is not *neat* enough, for me.   ::::::::::::     Only *one other* Blogger, in all of Pretty Blog Land, would even think of this, I'm pretty sure.....   Fussy, fussy, fussy...
LOL
🐈
"A cat isn't fussy - just so long as you remember he likes his milk in the shallow, rose-patterned saucer and his fish on the blue plate.  From which he will take it, and eat it off the floor."  ~Arthur Bridges
❄❄ 'Daughter of The North ❄❄
I am a "Daughter of The North"...
Not blond or young...    But in my veins, flows the blood of Germany, Austria, Scotland and Ireland.   Not a drop of Mediterranean blood there.   😊   I have had cold winters and snow, for all my 84 years.
So it is no wonder, that I want cold winters, with snow.
Can you see those bits of snow, 'against' the road,  captured by my old camera?   Hard I know....  -sigh-
Here perhaps...?
I even cleaned the camera 'bit,' which "seeeeees" what I am taking.
Might as well give up.   This old camera is not doing well.   LOL
         The snow is not heavy or big flakes, but still.....
Just make believe you can see it, please.  😊
We aren't getting much.   Just a pitiful amount.
And then,  in the future,  next Monday night will be 0 degrees F.   And....  Tuesday temps will be a High of 8 degrees F.   Fat chance of snow then....
Perhaps I need to get a ticket to Sweden.   LOL.
Please click    on this link❄   and go to "Wonderful Clara" blog, from Sweden.     If it comes up in Swedish, find the little Swedish flag, in top line, and click it....   To bring up the British flag, which will give you it, in English.
Scroll down through the lovely homey scenes of their New Year's in their Grandparents house, to see the beautiful snow, and clear night skies, where you are able to see stars, stars, stars, stars, stars.  😊😊😊😊😊😊
-happy sigh-   -happy sigh-   -happy sigh-
πŸπŸ‚πŸ Lovely Autumn words πŸπŸ‚πŸ
 "I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order." ~ John Burroughs
"Autumn -- the season with the gold in its pockets."
"Fall, leaves, fall;
die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree."
~Emily Bronte
"Yellow the bracken, golden the sheaves.
Rosy the apples, crimson the leaves.
Mist on the hillside, clouds grey and white,
Autumn, Good Morning, Summer, Good Night!"
~Florence Hoatson
"The equinox has arrived, and it's autumn, also know as, of course, fall  ~  the time of leaf fall.  Each gust of wind sends a snow~flurry of red and gold drifting to earth. And when those leaves drift past you, reach out and catch one!"  ~Anita Sanchez
"I have never been let down by autumn, to me it is always beautiful, always rich, it always gives in heaping measure."  ~Susan Hill
"I saw old Autumn in the misty morn
Stand shadowless like Silence, listening
To silence, for no lonely bird would sing
Into his hollow ear from the woods forlorn,
Nor lowly hedge nor solitary thorn;
Shaking his languid locks all dewy bright
With tangled gossamer that fell by night,
Pearling his coronet of golden corn."  ~Thomas Hood
πŸπŸ‚πŸ
I hope you enjoyed the poetry, which I have posted here.  😊
🌻🌼 Hurry 🌼🌻
 Blogging seems a wee bit slowed down.   Some are taking blogging breaks.   Etc.    Which is usual in summer.   People usually tend to be out more, with less time devoted to being on the Net.     Even more so, this summer, when we have been "Let Out Of Pandemic Jail."   At least, for a while.
But let's face it.   "The Powers That Be" are ready to lock us down again.   They have become addicted to the Power to do so.   Some already have.   New Zealand has 1 Delta case, and is in total lock down!  Read about it here... ...
🌻🌼🌻🌼🌻
How many things, were you looking forward to doing, in this summer of "Out Of Jail"?   Have you done them?     Let's get going!!!!   The summer is almost over.    Season-wise and Freedom-wise.   -wry smile-
"August’s full Sturgeon Moon reaches its peak on Sunday, August 22, 2021." ~Old Farmer's Almanac
Have you been able to see the moon?  It has been waxing!  😊   And the Full Moon is nearly here!  Hope we can see it!  Would really love to be able to see it, over the ocean or a body of water.    Guess I'll have to be content with its reflection, in the ripples of our pool.  πŸ˜‰
🌻🌼🌻🌼🌻
Gray hairs seem to my fancy like the soft light of the moon, silvering over the evening of life.
Jean Paul
"Summer ends, and Autumn comes, and he who would have it otherwise would have high tide always and a full moon every night." ~Hal Borland
"The moon is at her full, and riding high, Floods the calm fields with light. The airs that hover in the summer sky Are all asleep to-night." ~William C. Bryant
