❄❄ 'Daughter of The North ❄❄

I am a "Daughter of The North"...

Not blond or young...    But in my veins, flows the blood of Germany, Austria, Scotland and Ireland.   Not a drop of Mediterranean blood there.   😊   I have had cold winters and snow, for all my 84 years.

So it is no wonder, that I want cold winters, with snow.

Can you see those bits of snow, 'against' the road,  captured by my old camera?   Hard I know....  -sigh-

Here perhaps...?
I even cleaned the camera 'bit,' which "seeeeees" what I am taking.
Might as well give up.   This old camera is not doing well.   LOL
The snow is not heavy or big flakes, but still.....
Just make believe you can see it, please.  😊

We aren't getting much.   Just a pitiful amount.

And then,  in the future,  next Monday night will be 0 degrees F.   And....  Tuesday temps will be a High of 8 degrees F.   Fat chance of snow then....

Perhaps I need to get a ticket to Sweden.   LOL.

Please click    on this link❄   and go to "Wonderful Clara" blog, from Sweden.     If it comes up in Swedish, find the little Swedish flag, in top line, and click it....   To bring up the British flag, which will give you it, in English.

Scroll down through the lovely homey scenes of their New Year's in their Grandparents house, to see the beautiful snow, and clear night skies, where you are able to see stars, stars, stars, stars, stars.  😊😊😊😊😊😊

-happy sigh-   -happy sigh-   -happy sigh-

Your home looks like it is lovely! And yes, I can see the snowflakes on the road very well. Your weather sounds like what we are having here. Beautiful icy blog post today!

Isn't it great that we can visit other blogs and enjoy their pictures? I love seeing winter pictures at the moment, but for different reasons to you. I enjoy them because it has been so hot here this last week!
Take care, Mxx

We had less than an inch of snow yesterday. This morning it was 8 degrees when I left for work. I hope we get more snow soon. I'm Swiss/German/English. I lived in SW Florida for 20 years and while we had a good life there I missed the 4 seasons so terribly much. Especially winter. So I'm very happy to be somewhere that winter makes a traditional appearance. Thank you for sharing that beautiful blog. I can't wait to search through her recipes and more.
Happy Friday!!

I have some German and Irish ancestry. Blond roots, but now all gray.
Your age is surprising...definitely a woman young at heart!!!
I like seeing snow from my warm, cozy, chair!

I'm now off to Sweden...

I could see the snow fine.
We got some snow! :)
My ancestors came from Holland, England, and France.

I am also from the cold heritage - Dutch and German, with a bit of Scandinavian thrown in. Maybe that's how I tolerate Michigan winters.
I visited the blog and loved it! The pictures and traditions are lovely. I can't believe those children slept outside in that cold. I would have been afraid they would freeze to death!

Heritage here is almost pure English. I do NOT like being cold. It's age now, because it never was an issue before. I REALLY liked your blog with your thoughts and feelings about winter.

I live in the south and we rarely get snow. Even then it is a minute amount. A couple of times in my 72 years we've had enough to say it really snowed and it was just beautiful. I love your black and white photos! And your writing is so poetic...just lovely. I have been away from blogging for a few months. Just lost my MOJO to write or read. But I just posted so maybe you can stop by for a "chat." May you and yours have a very blessed 2022!
