🌼🌼Flowers 🌼and 🌼Pushing Boundries🌼🌼

 (Source of Nasturtiums pictures)

Hope to grow some Nasturtiums this year.    We got seeds.  And my husband has grown things from seed before.

🌼🌼🌼

I love them.   They are such a sweet and rather old-fashioned looking flower.

🌼🌼🌼

Do you enjoy growing them?

🌼🌼🌼

Well I did it.   We went to a new hairdresser and I had a semi-buzz cut.  No more 'bad hair days'!!!!!   Not enough hair, to get messy!!!!  πŸ˜‰

It's about like this, on Judi Dench.   Very, very short bangs.  Quite buzzed in the back and sides.  Very, very, very little, anywhere!

She began with scissors,  but switched to razor, which is the best.  It took a long time, but this was the first time she worked on my head.    Probably won't take as long, next time.

I don't expect anyone to applaud.  -grin-  It's wayyyyy pushing boundaries, for a woman of my age.   Judi Dench is older than I am, but....!     She has a bigger head and thicker hair, and a body shape, to balance the lack of hair.  I don't have any of these things.

I simply wanted it.

And I like to push boundaries.  πŸ˜‰

πŸ’—πŸŽ€ Blogging Question πŸŽ€πŸ’—

Are you having trouble with seeing new posting, on your Blog List?    I can't add blogs to my Blogger Gadget and that never happened before.  And some I follow, I am not seeing new posts.   And I am very confused.

I made a new private blog, with just my Blog List on it.   Have to click on them, to see if there are new posts, but it's better than nothing.

Help!    If you are having issues, please say so!!!   And I won't feel so alone!!!!!!   πŸ˜•

Couldn't open the patio drapes to the sun, this morning....  Because little birds out there by the pond, would have been frightened and flown away.  😊   Went back, and a lady cardinal was drinking, from a crack in the pond ice. 😊  Finally opened the drapes.   Love to have the sun pouring into this south side of the house, where our 'live in' rooms are.

🐰 Spring 🐰 Easter 🐰 Question 🐰

Thank you so much, for my Happy Birthday Wishes comments !!!!!!!!!!!!!

🐰 🐰 🐰

The other day, I was looking out the window over the kitchen sink....  There were 2 birds on the pool fence vines.  "He" seemed to have something in his beak, and "He" was following the "She"...    When "He" would get too close, "She" would fly a ways in front.     Then "He" would fly in front of her, with his 'gift.'      Over and over, until he got tired and flew away.

Guess "She" just didn't want to choose "Him."

I love watching the birds in the Spring....

Guess it's time to "break out" the BUNNIES!!!!

Do you have a lot of decorating or preparing for Easter?  If so, when do you begin to prepare?

Here, it's time to change the mantle.    But other than that, I don't do decorating.

Dinner is unknown.   I'd really like to "gather," but that all depends on whether one of the Grand Kids in school, has the 'sniffles' or not.   -sigh-

But Spring has to get here.   Nice weather.   More able to be outside.   So who cares about Easter Dinner?   😊😊😊😊

πŸ’› New 'Lady' in town... πŸ’›

 New "Lady" in town...

Of the Equine species...

Our City Police Dept. Horse-Mounted Team is getting a new member.  Our newest horse (she is called 'Phoenix') will soon join 'Apollo' and 'King Tut'.

"Animals can play  a really important law enforcement role, and they also can have a really positive impact in working with the public"  ...

Children love police horses so much that it's a special event when they go to visit elementary schools.   And many adults walk up to police horses, on warm summer nights, on Broadway, to pat them.

Of course, they are very useful on a practical level.  During special events and dismissal times, and sad to say, when too much drinking has gone on and the usual rowdy behavior follows.

If you have been reading here a long time, you might remember back, in early *damnpandemic* time, Police Officers on horseback, would ride around residential districts, so children (who had to be stuck at home) would be able to enjoy seeing them, ride by.

πŸŽπŸ΄πŸ’›πŸ΄πŸŽ

One "Nana" (you all know and love) enjoyed going out to see them too!!!!!!!!!!   -grin-

πŸŽπŸ΄πŸ’›πŸ΄πŸŽ

By any chance, does your local Police Dept. have a
Horse-Mounted Team?

🌸 🌷 🌼 Question, please... 🌸 🌷 🌼

It's time for a Question...!

Link

How do you read/comment on blogs?

Computer?

Laptop?

Tablet?

Phone?

Reason for my Question...

Link

I take time, and have fun, with my blogging.  I make my blog show up WIDE.    The middle part, where my photos & text show, is set WIDE.   To sometimes allow big/wide photos.  (These are more long than wide.)

I have a wide Header, and a compatible Background.

I wonder.....

How many Dear Readers can see the Header and the Background and the 'wideness' on my posts....?  Which would depend, on what you read them on.

So, please tell me, how you read/comment on blogs.....

Computer?

Laptop?

Tablet?

Phone?

Please and thank you.

πŸŽ»πŸ’›πŸŽ» All the time we have πŸŽ»πŸ’›πŸŽ»

Yesterday's post, I thought it was cute, at first.   But then, I lost that feeling, and didn't really like it.    But posted it anyway, since I had put time into the composition.  🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱   Not smart...    I should have listened to my gut reaction.
Yawwwwwwwnnnnnnn...   The Oscar's are tonight.   Yawwwwwnnnnnnnn...
Last night we watched "The Red Violin"

"In real life, the Red Mendelssohn – the Stradivarius of 1720 on which 'The Red Violin' is based – sold for $1.7 million in 1990 and is now owned by the violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn."  (Pictured above)  ~Source

Some years ago, she appeared at a Summer Musical Event, outside of our city.  It was a lovely outdoor event, nestled in a forest setting....   Thus only held, in summer.  And we were able to see/hear the original.

Last night, it became *officially* spring, since we had thunder storms.  😊  A little too early for me, for those.  But like all weather, there is nothing we can do about it.

Saw an interesting quote, which went something like this....

"Whether it's the best of times, or the worst of times, this is all the time, we have."

Kind of puts everything in perspective, yes....?

πŸ‘Ώ Gone Goblin Mode ? πŸ‘Ώ

"Slobbing out and giving up: why are so many people going 'goblin mode'?"  ~ Source

"At some point in the stretch of days between the start of the pandemic’s third year and the feared launch of world war three, a new phrase entered the zeitgeist, a mysterious harbinger of an age to come: people were going “goblin mode”.

"Goblin mode is not a permanent identity, he said, but a frame of mind."

"“Goblin mode is like when you wake up at 2am and shuffle into the kitchen wearing nothing but a long T-shirt to make a weird snack, like melted cheese on saltines,” he said. “It’s about a complete lack of aesthetic. Because why would a goblin care what they look like? Why would a goblin care about presentation?”

The trend represents a direct departure from the hyper-curated “cottagecore” influence of early pandemic days, a standout trend of 2020 that included pastel colors, bucolic scenery and the showcasing of wholesome homemaking skills such as baking and embroidery.

But as the pandemic wears on endlessly, and the chaos of current events worsens, people feel cheated by the system and have rejected such goals.

“At home there’s no social pressure to follow norms, so you sort of lose the habit,” he says. “There’s also a feeling that we’re all fucked, so why bother?”

Call it a vibe shift  or a logical progression into nihilism after years of pandemic induced disappointment, but goblin mode is here to stay. And why shouldn’t it? Who were we trying to impress, anyway?

“It is cool to be a goblin,” Marnell says. “Everyone is so perfect all the time online, it is good to get in touch with the strange little creature that lives inside you.”

I have gone some.   My hair is super-short, to be very easy.  I despise planning meals and cooking them.   Falling down on the Deep-Pantry-ideal.   Getting generally lazier.

Yup, I'm at least in Semi-Goblin Mode.

 πŸŒΈ

🌸🌼🌺🌷But Spring is here now!🌷🌺🌼🌸

🌸🌼🌺🌷I think Goblin Mode will be easing.🌷🌺🌼🌸

Sooooo, did you ever hear of 'Goblin Mode', before reading this?

What do you think of it?

Have you 'gone'....?

Some...?

A little...?

🌼 Dinner 🌼 Pretty 🌼

Here is the Corned Beef Dinner from the diner.  A lot, we couldn't eat all of it.   And I couldn't eat the Irish Soda
Bread, because it is made with Gluten.    πŸ€     I enjoyed this Irish Dinner, once.    But once-a-year is plenty, for me.

When I went to take the pic of the dinner, I found pics on my camera, from a bit ago, when we had snow.   The sunset little bit of the sunset I could see, was lovely.  Pink and beautiful, against the new snow.

So even though our snow is no longer with us, and spring seems to have arrived, I just had to post the pictures.  😊

I found pretty photos, on "Fireside Cottage" Tumbler.   Under a hashtag called  #grandma core.   😊   They are delightful.

πŸ€πŸ’šπŸ€ Happy and print size troubles πŸ€πŸ’šπŸ€

I'm having a lot of trouble, with making my print appear, in a size, which I want.

So I will just say, the best thing about this day is, that we do not have to plan or cook our dinner!!!   -grin-   Because we ordered Corned Beef and Cabbage from a local diner, and will pick it up, this afternoon.

πŸ€πŸ’šπŸ€

🌸 Spring and stuff πŸ€

Wow but it really feels and smells and seems like Spring today!  There was rain last night, and sun this morning, and it is just delightful.   🌸🌸🌸🌸    But no, I will not get my hopes up too high.    March is a fickle "Ol' Gal"!!!!!!!

Had to get a very few things, in the nearby grocery store, and a couple of things, in the nearby hardware store.   🌸🌸🌸🌸    Happily, the number of unmasked people are growing!!!!   🌸🌸🌸🌸    Again, it is your choice to wear or not wear, a mask in public.

Ordered 2 Corned Beef and Cabbage dinners, to pick up, from a nearby diner, for tomorrow.   Cheaper than going to a restaurant.   Less of a hassle too.  πŸ’šπŸ€πŸ’š

I noted the amount of money we spent this morning.   Insurance bills, are set and you just have to pay them.  The only place one can be more frugal, is 'out of pocket' every week.  πŸ’šπŸ€πŸ’š   I imagine many of we ordinary people, are paying more attention to what we are spending, with sky high inflation (Thank you *Uncle Joe*) and sky high gasoline costs (Thank you *Uncle Joe*... You who, immediately when you came into office, cut off the pipe line, and made so many onerous Rules on gas companies, they do not want to try to get more gas...  Thus gas was sky-high, even before Mad Man Putin.)

πŸ˜”

And the sad thing is.....   When everyone starts cutting back on what we spend, it slows the Economy, which results in Inflation and coming Recession.

πŸ’šπŸ€πŸ’š

Gotta' lift the spirit of this post!

πŸ’šπŸ€πŸ’š

Early Wishing you a Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Are you gonna' have Corned Beef and Cabbage???

😊 1st Robin 😊 Views 😊

Saw my first Robin, of the year, this morning!!!

🌟

I love the layout of the set used, in "As Time Goes By."  I love allllllll sets.   And this one, is quite easy to "see," as it were.   But I have never made sense of the upstairs.   Surmise they didn't care, if we can.

🌟

Can never reach wayyyy into my dryer, to retrieve something "stuck" in the back....    Without thinking of the awful scene, in "MM", where 'the busy-body' woman, is leaning into the hotel sized dryer, and the bad woman pushes her in, and closes the door and turns the machine on.   Brrrrrrrrrrrrr...   Remember that one???

🌟

Wish "Midsomer Murders" had less gruesome murders.  I love the beautiful English countryside scenes...  The interior of lovely old homes, both aristocrat and commoner, and the authentic pubs!!!!!!    But the murders!!!  Shudder...
🌟

Have you seen your "First Robin" yet????

⛄More snow coming πŸ”₯ Film 😊

Looking at snow coming again...

Saturday
Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 8am. Temperature falling to around 26 by 5pm.  Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Link
 .
 Enough already....  πŸ˜’

Have watched Brenda Blythen DVD's from the library.  "Blizzard"  an enchanting Christmas Time one, with her playing an Aunt, telling a 'story.'

"Saving Grace" about a small town English widow, facing financial troubles after her husband's suicide.  Pretty cute.  In both these films, she is playing a nice lady.  Smiling and looking nice.

Which make her role in "Vera" to be all the more interesting.   A total reversal.  Playing a woman with caustic wit and no-nonsense approach.    Showing her acting talents, as never before.

So glad I got these DVD's to watch.

Have you seen "Blizzard"   or "Saving Grace" ?
