Wondering...🎀 Reading...📕

Here, we often wonder, why just 2 people, generate so much laundry.  We are not fancy.   We don't "go here", and "go there", which would require changes of clothing.   We live a very simple life.    And yet, I seem to need to do a wash a day.   And when I get behind...   I have to 'play catch-up.'

Does  this question, only come up, in our house?   Or do you wonder the same sort of thing?

Speaking of lots of changes of clothing.....

I already read and enjoyed this light mystery.  Being the 5th book in the series,  facts about the characters were already established.    But I wanted to see how they were introduced, in.......

... the 1st book...  "House Party Murder Rap"...

Talk about changes of clothes!!!!   'Evie' has morning dresses, taking a ride dresses, lunch dresses, going for a walk dresses, formal dinner gowns......  You see how it goes, in these upper circles, in which she lives.  LOL   And of course, with all these changes of clothing, she has a Ladies Maid, to keep them sorted and pick them out, for her.  Oh and, hats to go with them, of course.  😊

The reading is lots of fun, but I can't imagine how much laundry work, it entailed, to keep high society women "going"!!!!!

Those books look like the sort of light reading I would enjoy. Love any sort of mystery and sometimes you just dont need them to be complicated. We have a Poirot series on tv at the moment. Ye gods and little fishes they are so twisted and involved some of the endings are darn right ridiculous, and this from an Agatha Christie lover.
Our washing is much the same and its winter where you can wear something twice without it stinking of sweat. I get annoyed about the time I spend in the kitchen. There are only two of us and most of the morning is spent at the stove and the sink. Here just about everything is done from scratch, just no tins or packets available. I would live on boild potatoes and salad if I was on my own. 15 minutes at the max.
I need more time to read and write!!!

Now that I think about it, I do know that middle and upper class people woud get "dressed" for dinner. I suppose a certain style was required. I wonder if back then, they had no deodorant? And maybe didn't bathe as much? So that meant that their clothes got dirtier faster. Do you think?

Yes.. we have the same problem regarding laundry.

I am chuckling at Ginny, no deodorant back then.. Hee Hee! That is true.

I live in muumuus, and I am always washing, washing, washing. With the pets, things get hair on them quick, and the chiweenie has, shall I say, an odor about his feet...little stinky corn-chip-smelling feet...

WOW those are some great quotes! I love Iris Apfel! What an original! And Diana Vreeland. Just great quotes, and I agree 1000% with them all. As to laundry ... SAME! I do not understand it and never will! How on earth did I keep up when we had four children at home? It's a mystery. xoxo

If I do a load of laundry every other day I can keep up fine. We mostly just wear jeans and tee-shirts and sweet shirts.
I just cancelled my KindleUnlimited.

My grandmother used a scrub board and a pan for clothes from fishing and farming. She washed every day, except Sunday. I wash once a week.

I think there is something wrong if I don't put at least one wash on each day. I'm sure there are people living in this house who I am unaware of! :)

I hadn’t really thought about the laundry until I read your blog ..it made me think that whether lockdown or no lockdown, I seem to get through just as much laundry. I do know that during the last year, I’ve worn nothing but old jeans and t shirts as I toil away in the garden! I’m so glad now that I didn’t throw out the pile of tatty clothes that was destined for the bin last year! It’s all come in rather handy.
Thank you for visiting my blog! Have a great day! 😁

Thank you for stopping by on my blogsite.

Oh, that's a pity, that there is no translation ... and I don't know, how I could help. I'm searching always of a way on Blogspot ...

I'm sorry.
