Yes, I saw the news when I woke this morning. I cannot imagine the sadness the Queen must feel. He has been by her side for so many years and through so much joy and sorrow. Lovely post, my friend.
I love your choice of photos here. I just read that the palace and Parliment will go into mourning for 30 days. Since he did get discharged from the hospital, I was kind of surprised. I never did find out what his problem was, but of course he was so old. Too bad he didn't make it to 100.
My sympathy as well. It's hard to believe she is still working full time at 94, and now will be mourning her husband of so many years. I like the photos you shared.
That saddened me to hear of his passing. I came to "know" him by watching The Crown on Netflix. As Queen Elizabeth said, he was her strength for so many years. I fear she may pass on quickly now; I hope that is not the case.
I did read something on one of the corgi sites I follow on Facebook that he had a "wicked" sense of humor and one time put one of the queen's corgis in a closet or something like that. She asked him if he knew where the dog was and he said he didn't, but LOL the dog gave him away. When the dog had heard the queen's voice it made some kind of sound that alerted her the dog was nearby :)
I used to follow your blog and then took a long blog break during which time I made my blog private so as not to deal with spam comments. I just started a new blog; if you are interested in following it email me at lv2trnscrb@aol.com for the link :) Its not listed on my profile; I'm not publicizing it like that currently :)

It has to be hard to lose someone you’ve been with for so long!
Yes, that is sad.

It is always hard when you lose someone you love, especially when they have been together for so long.

That was sad news but he lived a full life and made a difference to so many along the way.
