A few days ago, I "felt something in the air," as the saying goes. The Season was nearly changing... 'The Wheel of the Year' was about to turn... Autumn was coming....
Now, I am seeing changing leaves!!!!! 🍁 It's beyond "a feeling" now. And having had days of very hot/humid conditions, I'm more willing to welcome it. 🍂🍂🍂 I'm not one, to wish time away. But this heat/humidity, is getting *Old*!

Those pretty little things above, and in the first picture, are 'Cloudberries'... Did you ever hear of them? I had not. I found this "Guide To Cloudberries" so we can both, learn more about them. 😊

"It is the glistening autumnal side of summer. I feel a cool vein in the breeze, which braces my thought, and I pass with pleasure over sheltered and sunny portions of the sand where the summer's heat is undiminished, and I realize what a friend I am losing." – Henry David Thoreau

I've read in books(novels) about cloudberries and have seen them at Hobby Lobby (floral) but never really knew about them.
Our summer will linger for months yet. At least to November when the air starts to be less humid.
I have never seen cloudberries before but they certainly are beautiful!
We had a very hot and humid week with heat index in the triple digits. Also a couple of thunderstorms in the evenings. Now today it is in the 80's and that is supposed to continue all week. I'm sure we'll have a few more hot days between now and October but yes Fall is on the way. I spent the morning in the back yard cleaning up the garden, herbs and flowers. I planted more lettuce, arugula and basil for the fall. Later today I will fix dinner on the grill. I'm trying to appreciate the weather now because in the blink of an eye it will be winter. I always want time to slow down. Enjoy your weekend!
I hadn't seen cloudberries before. So pretty!! We aren't there yet but in a few weeks we'll see just a touch of coolness in the morning that shows that fall is coming though like I said before we don't get fall in Phoenix. We go from summer to winter in a day's time it seems :)

I love your quotes at the end. and learned something new now. Never heard of Cloudberries! We have no signs of fall here yet, and it has been 100 for several days!
No, I've not heard of cloudberries. No changing leaves here quite yet.
I've read about cloudberries, and I think there is a cookbook by that name, but I have never eaten one. I believe they grow in Scandinavia.
I hadn't heard of cloudberries. They are pretty!
It's been so humid here too, but finally today, it's better!
Cloudberries grow in my native Newfoundland, one berry per plant, low to the ground on bogs. Not easy to pick but tasty. Love the jam!
Autumn is my husbands favorite season.
I have never seen or heard of cloudberries.

In our area the early changing trees are changing! This really gets me in the Autumn mood.
Also I do autumn from the beginning of September through November! It's almost here!
Never have I heard of cloudberries and they are so beautiful! I know what you mean about something being different in the air, on the cusp of autumn. I call it a "thinning" of the air but of course we will not feel that here in South Carolina until perhaps late October, and then only at night! xoxo
