🍁🎃🍁 And on Sat. morning... 🍁🎃🍁

Love her dress and shoes!!!!  😊
We finally went to a "Tea Shop" which we have heard so much about...  All good.    And it was!   They have loads of teas to try.  And loads of delicious food too.   We had the Turkey, Brie and Cranberry Panini.   Plus, they take care of Gluten Free people, so I had mine on G/F bread.
🍁 🎃 🍁
We will go back again, and try teas.   I think they would go better with a more dessert-like food.    But anyway, we need to begin our Tea Education.   What a happy find!!!
🍁 🎃 🍁

Remember back when people could burn their leaves?  Oh the most delicious aroma, arose from doing this....  I am so sad, that my Grandchildren will never experience this quintessential Autumn smell.

🍁 🎃 🍁

And now for something completely different!!!!  🐔   This is the fence, between our back yard, and our son's back yard.  And that "Cutie" is one of his new chickens.    🐔   These 4 are different from the old ones, and a bit lighter and LOVE to "fly"!!!!    😒   So they "fly" up on our fence and come over to enjoy life, in 'Nana's' and 'Pop's' back yard.    🐔   Trouble is, our back yard is not fenced in.

So our Daughter In Law is opening the gate to the garden area, which is spent anyway.   Giving them a "new" place, to forage in, and a "new" place to keep their attention.

See, up on the right side of pic....  What looks like an Owl?  It's a statue, on top of chicken coop fence...   To try to discourage Hawks.

And spreads a common feast for all that live."

We can still burn leaves here. The chicken is so cute sitting on the fence. I think I need to get an owl, the hawks visit our yard a little too much even though we no longer have chickens.
Have a wonderful Saturday!!

My folks used to clip their wings to keep them from flying. I guess now-a-days that is looked upon as being inhumane?

Oh yes, the burning of leaves in autumn. Extraordinary fragrance if times past. The tea shop sounds like a great place to explore & buy, buy, buy.

You can't burn leaves anymore?

It’s hilarious the chickens like to visit Nana and Pop’s garden. Smart chickens.

I love that your son is right behind you!

I noticed the owl right away, and was going to ask if it was fake. I love your header! does your son have any roosters, and do they wake you up? There used to be a tea house about an hour away, but it closed down. I am so glad I went! They even held tea parties with fancy tea cakes.

Love the chicken on the fence.
Leaves are still burned around where I live!
Tea Shop sounds lovely.

Yep! We can burn leaves! Great fragrances in the air at this time of year. I wouldn't want chickens sitting on my fence. Messy. Wing clipping is common in this area. We have a local coffee house with home-baked goods but it is a pricey place. To each his/her own.

Lucky you to have your son in your back yard (or is it LOL?) You will never be at a loss for fresh eggs I bet. And ahhh...I could watch chickens forever. Don't know what it is. We get inundated with wild turkeys from time to time...they are just not the same to watch as chickens for some reason. Still trying to figure a way to follow you. I just can't figure out why the gadget is not revealing itself to me. For now I guess I will just have to make a mental note to check in from time to time. Happy Sunday.... ~Robin~

What fun to have chickens visit from over the fence. I would enjoy that. Lovely illustrations you've chosen and I enjoyed the poem.

We can burn leaves, and I could when I lived in a rural county, too, even though it was a strict state all up in your business! But you are so right, the "burn barrel" that even suburban folks always had is a thing of the past in most places. I get around the "no leaves burning" rule here because you CAN burn them in a "residential firepit," bwa ha ha. So, the barrel is gone, but the firepit is used! What a pretty chicken. I hope they are engaged in exploring the garden area now, and stay safely fenced!

There is a tea shop right across the street from where I work. I have never been but it's looks pretty popular!

Oh yes, I forget to mention how I love the smell of burning leaves!

I don't suppose we are allowed to burn leaves here, since no one ever does, but I agree that the smell is heavenly. The chicken is ADORABLE and I love your fence between yours and your son's back yards. That is just wonderful, my friend. xoxo
