We are now experiencing the December 2021 "Full Cold Moon." (December’s full Moon is most commonly known as the Cold Moon—a Mohawk name that conveys the frigid conditions of this time of year, when cold weather truly begins to grip us. ~ Source)
And since the Winter Solstice/Yule will be on Dec. 21st, this Full Cold Moon nearly coincides with 'The Eve of Yule' on Dec. 20th. Which I think is pretty neat! ๐
I like to celebrate Solstices and the other Turning Points of the Year.
"Why do we celebrate the winter solstice?"
"The hushed darkness of winter is at its deepest on the solstice, yet for thousands of years it has been celebrated as a promise of the brighter days ahead. The winter solstice is a tipping point, a moment of stillness when the balance of the seasonal scales will once again begin to tilt towards the light. Since long, long ago humans have been aware of this tipping point and celebrated the long night as a marker of new life and warmth returning." ~Source
I know, most everyone is busy.... But if you have a couple of minutes, this link takes you to some quiet (short) reading, concerning this lovely time of year. -smile- A bit of a respite, in the midst of all the Christmas Hoop-La. -smile-
Wishing you a lovely Full Cold Moon, and a restful Winter Solstice/Yule.

Interesting reading on the winter solstice. And such pretty pictures!
I love winter here in the south! Cool to cold evenings...then, mild daytime
Thank you for sharing that link. I enjoyed reading it and all of the lovely pictures you posted.
I think you and I are kindred spirits when it comes to this time of year.
I've been celebrating all the joys of the season with much enthusiasm.
I didn't get to see the full moon because of the clouds so a little sad about that.
I hope you have a magical day and week ahead!!
I look forward to brighter and longer days. :)
Turned cold here again and we got a light dusting of snow last night.
In answer to your question about covid. There are more cases breaking out every day here by us. It is worse now that it ever was!
Your link is lovely, and gives us very do-able small ways to recognize and celebrate the Soltice. I want to go out and snap the cold Moon today, but it is just TOO COLD!! It will be one of the first months I miss snapping it. I like the deer resting on the front porch, I think even HE must love the light.
Good link! I think I shall light up another candle to celebrate the Winter Solstice.
Happy Solstice my friend. I too take time to reflect during the winter solstice.
I love the solstice. The light begins its return!
Just popping by after I posted my last blog of the year to wish you all a wonderful holiday season.
Very interesting, my husband always loved reminding me when winter solstice came around. He knew how much I disliked the long nights and short days, so he was always happy to spread cheer when the days would now get longer. My sweetheart! :)
Wishing you a wonderful New Year filled with good health and much love.
