Our older son got us a "Roku" Streaming Stick, and set it up on our tv. It is wonderful!!!!!! It has solved the various issues we had, with just cable, and the new smart tv.
In a month, when I'm sure all is working well for the long term, I will take back our Cable box, to Cable store, and stop paying for that. We still have Cable, for an upper tier, but receiving it, via our wi-fi modem. (Soooo, basically, we have "cut the cord.")
I will begin writing down the only Cable channels we regularly watch. Check them against the lowest (least expensive) Cable Tier... Possibly switch to that.
We signed up for more streaming services. So we now have *zillions* of things to watch, with just streaming!!!!
And of course,
we can cancel any of them, at any time.
We are *creeping* toward getting rid of Cable Tv. 😏

You find the best images, BB! We are serial subscribers - a few months of one, followed by a few months of another. We have very basic cable with our internet subscription and are ready to let that go.
Wish we could too. Not enough options here yet.
Welcome to the 21st century!! lol
We are trying to do that too. We are streaming and trying to figure out where we can get what we want to watch.
I check out the GAF that you mentioned. Where do you get that through?
We did that a year or so ago.....and never looked back! Personally, I don't care too much about TV but I sure do mind paying all the $$$! We just use our Roku now.
WELL...First, such beautiful holly header and background, perfectly matched. We have Roku! It is awesome! And they will send all their new shows and suggestions to your e-mail at least once a month! We get e-mail from all the streaming channels we subscribe to. AND not only that, you can add the shows they suggest to your watch list from your coputer e-mail!! NOW, tell me what other channels you subscribed to. Acorn is real good, it is British mostly.
As you probably we haven't had cable for years. We get just about every thing from the library to watch.
I love the first illustration. So cute.
Cutting out dish is on our list of things to do as well.
So many windows to see today in your graphic display! I simply cannot keep up with all of the advances in TV world. Congratulations for doing your best with good help in that area! (All I have is all I need.)
Oh yes, we don't do cable. Only streaming service we have is BritBox.
My poor brain hurts with the very thought of what a Roku is and does and our tech son lives 3 hours away! However, every one of your illustrations pulls me in and I want to live in that world!
Especially since today's post is all window views which happens to be my blog's name! My favorite paintings are those that show views through a window from the room inside. I especially love your two with the young girls looking out! That makes me so happy!
Best to my tech savvy blog friend,
Dewena
P.S. RH says he will cancel our cable when our contract ends but I'll believe it when I see it as he is such a sports fanatic and I can't see him missing any games.
We got rid of cable a year ago and never looked back! Of course we have a few streaming services but it's tempting to get a few more!
I must admit to knowing very little about streaming services, as I don't watch very much TV. Your images, however are lovely and represent everything I love about this time of year. Xx
We cut the cord a few years ago in favor of Sling TV. TG doesn't watch shows via streaming but of course I do, haha! xoxo
