Today is going to be a day, for this. It will be the hottest day, this week.

All mothers should be happy, they do not live in these days! When a proper lady, had to be dressed like this, to take her children wading.

It will be a day for a cool meal. Like scrambled eggs with cheese added. (Since I didn't take anything out of the freezer, last night.) And old fashioned Jell-O with mixed fruit.

I'm getting tired of thinking up ideas, for meals in hot Summertime. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello! I see that you love the old illustrations too. I have a large collection of vintage women's magazines dating back to the late 1800s and love reading them. I do wonder how they managed to cook in the summer without air conditioning, especially on wood burning stoves. I'm one of the vanishing fans of cold aspics and gelatin desserts. I made a tomato aspic for yesterday's Father's Day dinner. I think my favorite supper for a hot day when I don't want to heat up the kitchen is a big one meal salad maybe with some hot bread to go with it.
Your babbling brook header picture is lovely!
