Hot....Finding Joy in terrible times...

Hot....    This photo, conveys the idea...    Hot...!
~
And I already have a Chicken in Sauce in the Crock Pot.   Do love our Crock Pot.    Make it in the morning.   It quietly cooks all day.  Cook some rice, later.   Ready when we want to eat.   Have lovely lettuce, for a salad.    Nice meal.

We are not a racing family, and never were.   We don't go to the races.    We don't bet on them.    But...
~
I have a lot of fun, following  jockey Jose Ortiz, above.   He and his brother Irad Ortiz, Jr. are top jockeys.    They work hard on their craft.
.
~~~~~~~~~~
Jose and his wife above, actually have 2 children now.   Both brothers are family men.   Nice guys, as the saying goes.  And they are happy to be in the United States of America.
~
 Racing is one sport, which has continued, through this horrible Wuhan Virus Pandemic.    It's so funny, to see them all wearing masks of course.   But at least they are racing.   Even without people in the stands.
 ~
So what makes this fun, for me?   I have to find out, what mounts Jose is on.    Then watch (when it is televised)  the post parade, to be sure of the number.   Watch the race, and root for him to win.
~
His brother Irad Jr. seems to be winning the Belmont Meet.   With most wins, I mean.    But a new Meet begins on July 16th, in Saratoga.    So the good natured  *race*, for most wins, begins again.
~
Guess this could be filed under, 'Things To Have Fun With, During This Horrible Wuhan Virus Pandemic.' ...  Hope you have some such, in your life, to try to have a semblance of normality.
"The lime trees were in bloom.  But in
the early morning only a faint
fragrance drifted through the
garden, an airy message, and
aromatic echo of the dreams during
the short summer night."
I enjoyed your quote.
I LOVE your go4geous header and matching background!! It used to be common practice to put a goat in with a racehorse, to calm them down. And before long, competitors were stealing the other rider's goats. This is where the phrase came from to "get someone's goat".
It does make a sport more interesting when you know about the people participating in it. We never miss watching the Kentucky Derby--except for 2020--our hearts in our throat that there won't be accidents to horse or rider but I'm afraid I've never followed the other Triple Crown races. I love the smiles on the faces of Jose and his wife!
