Now.....🍁 ✨ 🍂 ✨ 🍁

* Make an extra effort to seek out local, seasonal produce if you can.  September and October are wonderful months for all the classic harvest-time fruits and vegetables.

* In many ways, autumn offers us a final burst of energy to prepare ourselves for hibernation:  just as squirrels use this time to gather nuts and store them away for later, we too can plan ahead by considering what changes we might want to make to our routines or what we might need to stay happy and healthy as we approach the end of the year.
.

One thing that can be particularly difficult about this point in the cycle is the idea of losing the warmth and light of the sun - although this won't happen for a while yet, you might find it helpful to begin making your home as cozy and welcoming as possible, or writing a list of all the positives that darkness brings.

day narrows to streaks of red.
Leaf-weariness of trees makes itself felt within
-bright nights no more seduce me from my bed."

What a beautiful quote at the end! I always look forward to Autumn and a winding down of the hot, humid days of summer. While I love Fall I do dread the winter that follows on its heels.
Still searching for answers here to hubby's health issues. We are being referred to a large teaching hospital-we have stumped them all locally. lol
Take good care- hope you are both well and staying safe! xo Diana

As you know I'm in Florida so it's a different story here. Fall means nice weather to open the windows and get out and spend lots of time outside. I do like when it gets dark earlier, it's just a more cozy and comfy to me. Have a great week :)

From November to the end of January, the lack of sunlight can be depressing. I need to be outdoors as much as possible in the light there is.

Hmmm, I had never thought about making a list of good things about the dark! Very interesting!

Oh how I love all of these images! And I don't mind the shorter days and closing my house up at dark to enjoy time inside. I guess it's because we spend more time outdoors in the fall and winter months! It's cooling down a bit here already! YAY! I decorated a little for Fall today. I'm trying not to go overboard and keep it a bit simple! Hugs!

I so love your choice of photos to share...the one with the window is my favorite here, but sure enjoyed them all.

I so love this phrase: "Just as squirrels use this time to gather nuts and store them away for later, we too can plan ahead.". What a refreshing thought when, for months, I've been reluctant to plan more than 24 hours ahead.
Thank you for the links you shared yesterday. In particular, the first expresses what (I think) lots of us are feeling, but too afraid to say. I'll be re-visiting!

Your mystic images have as always taken my mind to a beautiful place... I love the idea of cozying up the home, of embracing the changes in the wheel of the year, of writing down the incredible blessings of the dark! Seeds germinate and explode into life in the darkest, underground part of the cycle... We can do the same. It is no stretch for me. I always prefer darker days and night time life (not to be confused with nightlife boogie... lol it has been a minute for that!!!!) Hugs from Missouri!

Hi,
I enjoyed the photos and what you shared about how important it is to make our homes cozy.
And to answer your question about my heart on my blog. It is just my way of saying I love you or Love, Carla.
Thank you for asking.
xx oo

Love the Equinox quote...very comforting. Around our neck of the woods, produce harvested locally is over. Usually late August mid September. Some have late crops, but most farmers have plowed their fields for next season aleady.

You really know how to create a most enjoyable, warming to the inner soul, posts!!

I don't mind winters here. We do get some cold and snow, but the sun often comes out...that makes a big difference.

I love the idea of making your home "cozy and welcoming" in preparation for the winter months :)
