I'm glad I live, where the Season of Winter, is so pronounced. Nothing like 2 foot of snow, outside your window, to realize that soon... Soon... After the last present has been opened... Is the time for Wintering... The time for slowing down... For resting more... For Hibernation...

Soon, the Holidays will be over. Even altered as they are, for many of us. Those of us, who do not Pack Christmas Away immediately 😊 can quietly enjoy the twinkle lights and the cozy Christmas time ambiance of home. Without the worry about present getting and wrapping and delivering. We can even put away our Angst, about how the China Covid Pandemic may have altered our Holidays. We can put all that behind us.

And embrace Wintering.... Embrace slowing down... Embrace rest... Embrace snuggling under a puff, in a comfy chair... Read... Nap... Or just contemplate... Let ourselves "go inside"... Listen to our body... Listen to our wishes... Plan, if one feels like it. Just quietly be, if that feels right. Let the accumulated tension and angst and depression of the year 2020, drift away. Away. Away. 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲

Lovely pictures and thoughts! We hibernate a bit, but get out every day for hikes. Love winter! You could send us up some of that snow!!! Happy Yule, Solstice and Christmas...
Found your blog a week ago and I missed yesterdays post. May I add some facts? My parents immigrated from England to the U.S. in 1950. I have many cousins living there. My Uncle was on a wait list for over a year for colon cancer!!! He passed away before the surgery. One of his daughters worked for the health care system in England(now retired) and has said socialized medicine is the worst. Socialized medicine is wait, wait, wait, and then get in line and wait some more. Does anyone think our politicians are going to have this kind of care in the U.S.? Of course not! If you are super rich, you can pay for private Dr.s that won't go along with the socialized medicine but that will exclude 90% of us. Okay, enough on that. I like your saying wintering is for slowing down, resting, and to hibernate. It is also the time I hand quilt. Have a Merry Christmas. Patty McDonald
We could use a LOT of that snow!!! We're in an exceptional drought (the worst category) here. Lots of beautiful sunshine, but things are getting drier and drier.
Enjoy your winter. In spite of numerous dental problems 2020 was a good year for me...I'll look back on it fondly.
Nice post...yes, I am ready for a little peace..Time o relax a bit..Have a Merry Christmas..Happy New Year too..
Dear "Quiltingwiththefarmerswife".
Thank you so much for your up-close information. It confirms the blog post, which I copied yesterday. Thank you.
I agree, the politicians, rich Hollywood types, and other rich Liberals, who want Socialized Medicine, have enough money, to get good health care, for themselves.
Why couldn't the people who voted for this incoming Administration, have figured out, that Provided Health Care for All, is not fiscally possible????
There is no Free Lunch! Everyone who has worked for a living, knows that. Ordinary people, are praising this incoming Administration. Why were they so blind, to simple facts of life???????
-sigh-
Again thank you...

The bible says "Be still and know that I am God", and this time of the year is perfect for it. In all that Jesus had to do in his short life, you never read about him rushing around anywhere. I love your chosen pictures, you are just so gifted at choosing them!! We are leaving our decorations up thru Epiphany!
We have no proper winter season here - it just gets cold and rain and grey. You make Winter sound so lovely :)
Nice, warm, and comforting post.
Happy winter Solstice day!
Yes, we are going to hibernate for a while, but then ... Spring is coming! Yee-haw! Sleep tight!
Hugs!
It's the time of year when we get outside more because of the beautiful weather. But I love seeing the snowy pics in so much of the country and the world. It's beautiful! And my hubby is a Christmas baby...that's why he has a big week ahead! heeehhee...or hohoho! holiday hugs!
Your snow is very beautiful, as are your expressed thoughts, with which I concur down to the letter. We rarely have snow but I am okay with that, having lived where there were pronounced winters for many, many years. I do not miss it but I understand the feelings that it inspires. And I agree that "wintering" is something that is good for the soul, especially if it does induce that slowing down, and introspection, and planning, and most of all, counting one's blessings. Thank you for being my friend. Merry Christmas! xoxo
I am looking forward to wintering...hoping and praying that nothing will happen till we can enjoy just 'being.'
I love the idea of embracing wintering. Slowing down...though things sure have been slow around here lately...COVID style. I am one of the only people that likes winter in my family. It’s all about having the right clothing to get outside in.
