"Happy Blogging" Bloggers want.......

My "Wintering" came.   I prefer the look of the book itself, to the orange cover.

I know that this part of Blog Land, does not want to be greeted with controversial topics.
"Happy Blogging" Bloggers, want quiet topics...  Home and hearth...   Keeping a home....   Things we enjoy doing....   Books we enjoy...    Quiet ideas....    Etc.

Blogging topics, which go along with these pretty and peaceful "Wind In The Willows" winter scenes....

So....

Guess I will eliminate *Hard Posting*.

Concentrate on *Soft Posting*...

When I can...

We loved "The Wind In The Willows"! Well, this is your blog and of course you are free to post what you want. People are already so riled up and upset, I think blogs are a great escape from life right now.

I don't rate content as hard or soft; I rate it as true or lies. I want truth. I have a different word (or at least additional descriptive words) for lies, but I won't share them here. One of my favorite quotes is "I'd rather be confronted with the truth than comforted with a lie." As a caveat to that I will say by quoting my favorite female poet, Emily Dickinson: "Tell all the truth but tell it slant / Success in circuit lies." So whether circuitous or direct, give me the truth. It makes us free.

I don't care for the color orange (cannot wear it very well although I have tried and it wasn't a total disaster), but I would call that book cover bittersweet. Even so, without being as off-putting to me as it seems to be to you, it does not appeal to me. I just don't know why the book's cover isn't blue. I mean, like duh. Blue is the favorite color of 99 out of 100 people, and denotes both cool/cold temperatures, and calm/peace.

The pirate is stumped on this one but I suspect that, nevertheless, life will go on. xoxo

Thadeus!
Ranting sometimes is very necessary (better than holding it in or taking your frustrations out on family or loved ones IMO)

Oh, how I love that last picture...don't you long for days you can visit freely? I sometimes wonder if those days are ever going to be again.

I never know what to say to whom these days!!! People are sure at the opposite end of the poles. My heart just aches at all that is going on in our country. I just pray that in the end goodness will win out! I read blogs to get away from things, but I certainly understand when someone at times feel the need to vent or say their mind. It's your blog...anyone who doesn't want to read it doesn't have to:) I've never heard of this book but will check it out. I need all the help I can get these days!!!

Thaddeus Toad (aka Mr. TOAD) was in the Disney version of Wind in the Willows. Look it up in wikipedia.

Keep searching..."Thaddeus Toad is the main protagonist of The Wind in the Willows, which made up a segment of Disney's 1949 animated feature The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. In that film, he is only 8 inches tall, while in most of his later appearances, he is much larger.
