A Military funeral..... Low key...... Impressive..... The passing of one of the last members of The Greatest Generation..... Who fought for Country...... And always did his Duty....
To me, much of the Monarchy is archaic..... But this display of, and reminder of, Duty..... Is very much needed... In this time..... Where Duty is scoffed at.... Where History is being *Cancelled*... Where only One View is allowed.... Where even gender, is denied....
***
Lives of Duty, are so needed, to be celebrated, as a reminder of past Values..... Which should not be allowed, to be *Cancelled* or Forgotten... Reminded of a time, when Men and Women aspired to Be The Best That They Could Be.
***
And an example of a lady....
Even in today's Horrible Climate, which is devoid of ladies.... Kate engaged Harry in conversation.... Thus leading to William and Harry walking together, from the funeral..... And chatting, although this single photo, does not show the brothers doing it....... If you watched the Funeral coverage, you saw it, for yourself...

May Prince Philip rest in peace.
I watched it. It truly was a lovely event, if you could ever call a funeral that! But the weather was glorious, the music was superb and everyone did their bit to ensure that Prince Philip had the best day.
Your post celebrates the best that we people can be; honoring a man who put his country and his Queen and wife first, values that improve us when we live them.
I just finished watching a video of the funeral. I was touched by much of it and thought it was a nice service. I thought the queen all on her own was sad. I can't imagine always having your life on display, even with the funeral of your spouse.
I was happy to see the brothers talking too, and I agree that Kate is a lady.
Did you feel bad for those pall bearers? That was quite a walk with the casket on their shoulders, and going up all those stairs had to be nerve wracking!
Wow, I did not know they finally walked together! Prince Philip would have been pleased. I taped it, but have not watched yet. I thought the photo of the Queen all anone in the church was so sad!
I did not watch it.
The photo of the Queen alone.. is heartbreaking.
I agree with your comments on duty - too many these days seem to prefer to concentrate on themselves. Duty is becoming a dirty word - but, perhaps, I am just growing old!
