๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒฑSummer is Here!๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒฑ

Well, we seem to have jumped right into Summer, in my neck of the woods.  Don't think we will have any more frost warnings, so it's safe to get/plant flowers.

We have been going to bed, too late.   And thus, getting up in morning, too late.   Which has to stop.   In Summer, if one wants to accomplish active things, it should be in the coolness of morning.

And we did thus, this morning.  Went out to the big Plant Nursery, just on the outskirts of town.   It's so big, one has to ask, where to find this or that.   And then walk and walk and walk, finding your choices.   So in the process of getting some flowers for the front, we got in our daily walking tooooo!!!!!!!!   Yessssssss!!!

Dear Jenny has prompted me, to work on, getting back into our walking routine.   Walking is good for everyone, and for everything health-wise.    We know this!   But...  -sigh-   It's too easy to talk ourselves into, forgetting it.

And with Summer, walking needs to be done, before the heat sets in.

Now, all I need to do, is stick to this.   I have failed many times.   But....   This time.....   This time....   This time.....  ๐Ÿ˜Š

and still the scales balance."

I agree, walking is the best exercise we can do. No pounding on the joints, like running does.

We have a garden center like that near us. It's the largest greenhouse in Michigan and is 21 acres under cover. It's overwhelming, but so fun! And when this covid business is done, we are going to visit there.
Jenny is right, and I need to listen to her too. Don't tell her I said that - gives her a big head! :)

I love your quote by Jane Hirshfield. I admire her poetry. Now as to walking, just think of how good that 30-minute walk makes you feel! Especially if you get it done early in the day. Walking is the best exercise in the world, bar none. It IS nice when you can combine "getting your steps in" with doing something pleasurable, like buying flowers!

I bought some flowers today too, to add to my giant poolside pots. I was scared to death I'd kill them just by looking at them. But it's possible I'm turning into my mother, who loved nothing more than planting stuff and tending to it. I do find it magical in its way but then it's not like I've done all that much of it. But one must start somewhere! Have a great weekend, my friend xoxo

Around here one must get their flowers long before Mothers Day..My Geraniums have been in since early April..We did have some frost but I just throw a towel over the few in the ground and put the pots in the garage..They all must be the same color and if I waited until now they would be gone..I was in the nurseries this week..All picked over..There are still beautiful hanging baskets being made..Decent Perennials are gone..
I'm glad for my dog..she makes me walk not always willingly..
Like your header..
No Spring here agin this year..90's this weekend..60's last week..Yuk
I,too stay up late..get up around 8:30..Enjoy your weekend..

I was just telling my husband I need to set my alarm for when the sun rises in the morning so I don't miss a minute of this beautiful season. Although we went from frost to 82% humidity already!

Combining the walk with going through a nursery sounds wonderful. It is warming up here quickly too. I have almost everything planted. I'm happy everything survived the winter except for possibly our weeping cherry tree. It didn't bloom this spring and only has green leaves on a quarter of it. It will be sad if we loose it. I have been fertilizing and babying it in hopes it will pull through.

I've have been taking a morning walk for so many years that it has just become part of who I am! I'm convinced it has kept me as healthy as I am.
So much fun walking around a nursery picking out flowers!!

Here in Phoenix we seem to jump from winter to summer and summer to winter in a day's time lol, but surprisingly today we are having a spring day in the low 80s. I agree with you, one must get their work/exercise done in the cool time of the day if where they live gets hot. Hubby has been walking Winslow at 6 o'clock in the morning to make sure it is not too hot out.

Walking is great exercise. I "cheat" and walk on the treadmill for 40 minutes 5 days a week. Good time to read "fluffy" fiction with no major plots :)

Walking is a wonderful exercise and 30 minutes a day is not a lot of time! Its a bonus when you have a beautiful place to walk, too!
