Well, it's Official.
The United States of America, now has a Badge of Shame.
"According to the new recommendations, fully vaccinated people no longer
need to wear masks indoors or outdoors, regardless of gathering size.
The CDC still advises travelers to wear masks while on airplanes, buses,
or trains, and the guidance still calls for masks in some indoor
settings, including hospitals, homeless shelters, and prisons. Those who
are not vaccinated should still wear masks and physically distance, the
CDC says."
And I bet you thought, nothing like this could ever happen here.......

It's a recommendation which gives one the option of still wearing a mask..I hope if you need to have surgery in the future that your surgeon wears a mask..They are effective..The Flu season as much milder this year due to people wearing masks..Enough said..We still live in a free country..Respect others
I haven't really taken to heart any of the CDC guidelines through this whole pandemic and by the grace of God, I haven't gotten sick nor anyone in my immediate family who we have seen through this entire pandemic. I wear a mask when I have to wear a mask, store, work, that type of thing. I am not vaccinated nor will I get vaccinated (that may change down the road but not currently or in the near future) and I'm sorry I intend to go out and not wear a mask outdoors (which is ridiculous to begin with) or indoors. I think the CDC did say that local ordinances still apply regarding mask wearing and since we live in Phoenix with a very progressive liberal mayor, we'll be wearing masks for the next 5 years though I think the city council is voting today on the mask mandate here.
If the vaccine works like it is supposed to, I should not be a threat to anyone's health who has had the vaccine.

It amazes me what people will believe just because the government says so. This entire argument falls STRICTLY down political party lines, which tells me everything I need to know.
And by the way, to the commenter above ... a surgeon does NOT wear a mask to keep from either giving you, or getting from you, a communicable disease. He/she (and everyone else in the operating room) does so to reduce the likelihood of contaminating the operating field. That's ALL. Many precautions are taken in the operating room because a person's BODY is opened up. Masks and everything else they wear are for the purpose of maintaining a sterile environment for when they cut a patient open.
If you want to argue that wearing masks keeps you and others from getting sick, why haven't you been wearing a mask for your entire life? Why only now has this become an issue? Tens of thousands died of H1N1 (Swine Flu) during Obama's first term and NO ONE ever suggested that anyone wear a mask or "social distance" or close a school or a business or a church. Nothing whatsoever was said about it, and everyone just went right on, while people DIED of that virus. Oh and not just the elderly ... I have been to the grave in Knoxville of a woman in her early 20s who died of H1N1. My daughter had it and THOUGHT she would die. It was/is a horrible disease.
WAKE UP folks. This is about control and nothing -- NOTHING -- else. Excellent source link, Mari-Nanci ... I will be reading every word of that and sharing it with interested parties. I'll be doing that maskless, as I have been from day one of this shameful episode in America's history. God help us.
Yes! I thought the same upon hearing the latest. And proof of masks not working - I wear an N95 all the time at work, and guess who has covid?
And like Jenny said - comparing this to a surgeon does not work - it's a completely different scenario...
My heart continues to break for our nation. We are a mess!
Since they lifted the mask mandate I no longer wear one unless I absolutely have to. When we went to the grocery store this morning maybe 5% of the people were not wearing masks including us! It's going to take a while to reprogram people!
