🍁 Meaning of.. 🍁And 🍁Information 🍁

"Eat food, not too much, mostly plants"   Yesterday I used this Michael Pollan phrase.  It's in "In defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto"  But...  What does it mean???

Eat Food...  What else would we eat, concrete???  πŸ˜‰   Ahhh but he means, eat Real Food.   In its natural state.  NOOO processed foods.   Ahhhhhh.....

Not Too Much...  Means listen to our body, when we are eating.    It will tell us, when we are satisfied.    Stop eating when we know, we have had enough.   ~~~~~~   Actually, studies of longest lived peoples (Blue Zone) eat only to about 85% fullness/satisfaction.

Mostly plants.  Everyone now knows, that fruits and vegetables, are healthy eating.   As are nuts, seeds and legumes.   ~~~~~   What does that "mostly" mean???  ~~~~  It means that we *can* eat good meats and fish too.  He does not believe in cutting out all meat.  ~~~~~   Annnnd, the BIG THING is, that he does not include any desserts, chips, processed stuff, fast foods, etc. in there!!!  πŸ˜‰   ~~~~~~   There is "the straw that broke the camel's back," for most people.  LOL

πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Just explaining what "Eat food, not too much, mostly plants" means.

"A Southwest Airlines Pilot Explains Why You Will Not Hear Anything About Vaccine Mandates..."

(Click on the above click-able link)

"Essentially, the union cannot organize or even acknowledge the sickout, because doing so would make it an illegal job action. Years ago, Southwest and its pilots had a rough negotiation, and the union would not even let the pilots internally discuss the possibility of working-to-rule (which would have slowed Southwest to a crawl).

But at the moment the pilots don’t even have to talk to each other about what they’re doing. The anger internally - not just among pilots but other Southwest workers - is enormous. The tough prior negotiations notwithstanding, Southwest has a history of decent labor relations, and workers believe the company should stand up for them against the mandate. Telling pilots in particular to comply or face termination has backfired."

Now, will any other airlines, follow suit?  To push back, against all this Mandated "Jab"?

What a cute header!!
We do not eat processed or fast food. Mainly veg, fruit and some well raised meat. Only the occasional dessert.
I believe in everything in moderation.

My doctor once told me "everything in moderation. Even moderation."

I read an interesting factoid the other day. It went like, you don't gain weight from eating too much. You gain weight from eating ... processed foods. Period. Fact. And facts don't care about your feelings.

The powers-that-be at Southwest are lying. Also period, full stop. L-I-A-R-S.

The food info makes really good sense, but is so hard! I think your first pic is my favorite!

We eat very little processed foods but I understand why people with no money eat processed because it is cheap! It is full of fillers and crap but it is cheaper and makes you feel fuller than an apple. Sad state of affairs I say.
The other issue is no one knows how to cook anymore. I baked for a food pantry's thanksgiving basket for years before covid. She handed me so may zucchinis and said take this it is starting to spoil. No one wanted it! She said they didn't know how to prepare it. I grated it and made zucchini bread and brought it back to them. Not the best use but at least it didn't go in the garbage and they would take the bread. I fully support the vaccine getting the information from my husband's transplant Dr, I will take his advice any day to a facebook scientist. But having said that I do not believe you can mandate people into taking the vaccine. It goes against the whole premise of freedom.
Just my thoughts for the day

Well I eat everything that appeals to me and never worry about whether it is 'processed' or not. I weigh under 140 and enjoy what I like best. (So far so good!)

I live by eating all things in moderation. I always say I eat anything I want just not as much as I'd like. :) Works for me.

Eating no processed food is really good for you, but so hard!
I hope the pilots win this fight. I am worried now for health care. Michigan sounds like it's going to mandate the jab and if so we will lose badly needed staff. Our Doc told me yesterday that another of his facilities mandated and 20 staff members walked. Scary times!

I try to avoid processed foods but they are hard to resist!

My homemade versions like spam and corned beef can't beat the canned ones!

Happy Wednesday!
