We've *survived* Return-To-Nature's-Time! -grin- Started turning clocks back, during Sat. I got up at the time, I want to. Even earlier would be lovely. But it's a start.
"November is the month with the perfect fall
weather for boots, leggings, sweaters, vests and scarfs. ...... In November, especially around Thanksgiving, many families put
up their Christmas decorations, lights, and trees. Essentially, November
provides for a colorful and festive Christmas. Finally, daylight
savings ends in November. An extra hour of sleep does wonders to affect
how a person feels throughout the day, so falling back an hour for
daylight savings is always appreciated."~Source
There is so much about No-More-Flu...! And the *maskers* say; "Because of masks!" I say, because no one who is sniffling, coughing and hacking, goes out in public. Not since this China/Covid began. ~~~~ They are afraid of people coming after them, with pitchforks! And rightly so!
~~~~
"Burned" in my memory, from the past, is a woman, so sick with a cold or flu, that she should have been home in bed!!! Pushing her cart around in grocery store. Accompanied by her pre-teen children and husband. Who were running off, getting items. If they could do that, why couldn't she give them a list and send them...? While she stayed home in bed?
~~~~
Because it was not frowned upon! Except by me!
~~~~
Plus now, most people clean off the grocery store handle, before touching it. ~~~~ And are generally much more aware, of all kinds of germs-on-surfaces. We carry our little 70% alcohol bottles with us, and use them!
"November has a poetic soul: Dark, moody, and draped in the fading hues of autumn, November is a contemplative month with a great deal of beauty to the gradually dying embers of its seasonal fire."
I just think that it's time we stopped talking about germs. They have been around since humanity has, and God provided us with immune systems. Those who are afraid should stay home. No pitchforks needed. xoxo
You have such a great point about the woman in the grocery store! Your image of the ivy covered building is so gorgeous! I see that it is in Scotland, making it even more specal! Wonderful images today, you make fall seem not so bad after all! You are like me little fall elf, spreading glitter every day.
I do not like germs. I wipe my grocery cart and I always wash my hands. I think I do it even more so now.
Masks.. in my opinion do not work.
The November chill is relieved for a few days here. Better enjoy it while we can.
I'm so thankful when businesses offer wipes and hand sanitizer at the door. Autumn is looking mighty fine here in North Georgia during early November. Finally getting our fall!
When I first had a baby, I tried to keep everything spotless. She was sick every month or so it seemed. Finally, her pediatrician told me to let her play...get dirty, be around colds & flu to build up her immunity. It worked.
But with the pandemic, I wipe carts & I stay far from crowded areas for MY well-being...not in any way am I trying to influence what others want/need/think. It all boils down to immunities. I learned a tough lesson.
And yes, November is a beautiful month!
I always thought people should stay home when sick!!
Once again you have some beautiful pics here!
I agree with Jenny and Anni - everyone needs a few germs and viruses to build their immune systems! If people just had common sense and stayed home when they were sick, but didn't panic about every little thing, we would be better off.
I used to hate meeting people out in public who obviously should have been at home in bed. That is one good aspect of this silly pandemic - sick people stay at home more!
I would love to manage an extra hour of sleep. At least I can enjoy some blog reading in the early hours. X
Well when you grow up in the country/farm environment, the immune system develops very well. We were only coached to wash hands after bathroom trips and before meals. When someone had a cold you just stayed away from them - if you could. Today, in my mind, people are overdoing and overthinking the germ thing.
Well, I guess my point is.......
I am very old.
At my age, my immune system is not working the way it once did. Just like my eyes, ears, bones, muscles, heart, gut, etc., are not working as well as they once did.
So, I am more aware of removing random germs, than once I was. Like... Wiping shopping cart handles with disinfectant, etc.
And am very glad, that hacking, coughing, sneezing people, do NOT go out in public, now-days.
As for kids, let 'em develop natural immunity!!!!!!!
And for Pete's sakes, don't make them wear masks!!!!!!!!!!
