🌲⛄🌲 'Tis Deep Winter 🌲⛄🌲

The bustle of Christmas is over.   New Years is a week away.  Some people call this, "The Week That Time Forgot."  Delightful days, in which to just sit back and relax.    Or to enjoy the new toys, both children's and adult's toys...    Read the new books...   Play the new games...  Nibble on the left overs of the Christmas Feast.

And some, see this as the beginning of Deep Winter.   Yes, the days are officially getting longer.   But it will be awhile before this is obvious.   It is still dark, more than it is light.   It is still cold, more than it is even a hint of warm.

To me, this is the beginning of Deep Winter.  😊  Yes, a 😊.  Because I happen to like Deep Winter!

Nature is sleeping and resting.   I welcome this Season.   Giving me the prompt, to Rest myself.    To have an attitude of hibernation.   To eat warm nourishing food and snuggle under a warm puff.   To be grateful for the warmth and coziness of home.
We only have a little snow, at present...   Not all this beautiful snow, in the picture above.    But it is cold...!   So it is Deep Winter.  😊

Now I know, not everyone will agree with me!!!!!!   But it is a nice attitude to have, when one lives, in a part of the world, where it IS  Deep Winter, now.  😊

I am getting chilly reading this! Yes, your attitude makes the best of winter. And we need to try and make the best of things we cannot control. There are a lot of good things about winter, which I will be posting about. Your last photo was my favorite, but I am loving the others more and more now.

You describe Deep Winter so beautifully that I am almost feeling jealous! We never experience it cold enough to have snow, but the thought of being able to curl up inside all cozy and warm and just 'hibernate' for a while sounds heavenly :) xx

Enjoy the deep of winter while it lasts. I will be happier when the light returns again.

I do enjoy the cold, snowy weather, not so much the damp and gloom we are experiencing just now. X

Well after 85 winters, I have just learned to go with the season and be glad to have a change of scenery. ONE DAY AT A TIME. Keeping warm now is a bit of a challenge but then I think of people in the 1700's and feel happier!

Well it is springtime in the Carolinas ... daytime highs in the seventies throughout this week, as it was all of last week as well! Pretty soon the trees will be budding and the forsythia blooming ... but they'll get a shock as next week's temps are slated to be more seasonal. Either way we will be relaxing here at Chez Weber at all available times. Between cooking this and that, and company due to arrive at the door tomorrow, there will be plenty of activity. Here is hoping that you and your beloved enjoy a lovely "in between" week and that your new year is both purposeful and productive! xoxo

I love this week between the years, and it is just as you say, a week to relax and enjoy, to read, walk, play, craft, or whatever one desires. My husband booked vacation during these days and we've been taking it very easy. Utterly delightful! And the icing on the cake is SNOW! We haven't had snow for Christmas since 2008! Bliss!

I like deep winter, too. I like the cozy nights in, and the rest.
