Happily, yesterday was one of those days, when "the stars seem to align..." ~smile~ The weather was simply summer~like. Not too hot/humid.
~
We went over to the Dairy store, and had our Ice Cream Sundaes. Our weekly 'treat,' which we have not had, in longer than a week. We sat in a couple of white painted rocking chairs, on the store's front patio, while enjoying them. Since it was not on a busy weekend, we had them to ourselves.
~~~
(BWV) Before~Wuhan~Virus, people could sit at little tables, inside the store, to enjoy their ice cream. (Before we ever heard of Social Distancing, that is.) They always had the pretty rocking chairs, out front, and a table with chairs.... But we used to go, at busy times, and they were taken, by the time we got there. So we ate at little tables, inside. ~~~~~~~~ I like the not busy time, with outside rocking. ~smile~
.
~~~~~~~~
Then I "put on my big girl panties" and did one of those needed things, which has to be done, but we know it will not be an easy thing, and we tend to put off. ~sighhhh~ One of those calls, which go to a machine, to which you have to speak... Then the machine tells you how long it estimates, you will have to stay on the line, till you get a human being. ~sighhhhh~
~
And you then listen to canned music (loud) and canned selling messages. The especially bothersome ones are, those which tell you, how wonderful their company has been voted, for customer satisfaction. Hahhhhhhhhh!!!
.
~~~~~~
Btw, I did this, last week!!!!!! But the *gentleman* I talked to then, seemed to have an *attitude.* And I never got the necessary e-mail, he said I would get. Hmmmmm........
~
But the young man I got yesterday, was very nice. I was so very pleased, to deal with him. You know how you often are told (by the machine) that "your call may be monitored"? When finished, I thanked him again, and said; "If this call is being monitored, I want to tell you, that this person is a very gracious employee." ...
~
And then, my 'good day' was not over! NHL Hockey began last night. We watched an exhibition game, in Toronto, between the NY Islanders (!!!!!) and the NY Rangers. It was a lovely beginning. Both teams stood across the ice. The US National Anthem was played, and then the Canadian National Anthem. No posturing. No kneeling. No nothing. These men stood, and showed respect for both countries.
.
They had come, to play the game.
.
How refreshing, for a sporting event.
Glad you enjoyed your ice cream sundaes and that you were able to get a decent customer service rep too, they are hard to come by! Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a great day :)
I left a comment on your older post, in which I mentioned the hockey players! Apologies. But yes, a wonderful day when it's not too hot, and you can sit outside not in a crowd, to enjoy both nature and the company of your sweetheart, and your ice cream. Idyllic. We're on the same page and even the same paragraph. I hate having to make those phone calls too, and steel myself for the canned music and propaganda, and for when you get a rude "customer service" representative. How refreshing when someone is professional enough to meet the garden-variety standard of "nice." Too bad that's so rare. xoxo
It feels so great to get one of those chores out of the way! And I love sports so I'll be looking for some games to watch soon. I've had a good day so far...went to pick out some new reading glasses and get them ordered. YAY! Enjoy your day! And thanks for your sweet comments....come back soon! Don't be SKEEEERED! heheehee!
I just found you blog. It is great and I know how you feel trying to get a real person on the phone rather than a computer or just an answering machine. It's very frustrating trying to get in touch with a large company. Enjoy the sports.
Isn't it wonderful when you get good customer service? Glad to hear about your happy day! I've been putting off a call to AT&T. The last time I called it took 45 minutes. I love hockey!
High Fives for Hockey players. :-)
The weather is nice here too! Yippee!
Sure couldn’t eat ice cream outside these days... Maybe with a straw. It would melt very fast.A lot of other sports teams could take a lesson from the hockey guys. Enjoy the rest of your week
You are making a bad time into a good time! I love the Japanese Lanterns painting! It is just gorgeous, and hit me right between the eyes as soon as I came here. In a good way!
We are currently enjoying days with less humidity. It is suppose to last through next week. I certainly hope so as I need to tackle some yard work.
The ice cream trip sounds wonderful!
I will never understand blogger...I have been here two or three times today to see if you have posted...and this post did not show. Yet I can tell by the comments that this post was up. That is why I am this late posting.
My blood pressure starts going up just thinking about one of those calls. The last two or three times I have called our mail order pharmacy, I have actually gotten someone that tried to help, the same with our insurance. Before that, you could tell they would say anything to get you off the line. As if that won't just be another phone call that will come in.
I liked that painting, too.
oh, meant to tell you my daughter's dog always stands and listens to the National Anthem. She was not taught to do that...she just does it.
I may need to become a hockey fan, that was wonderful what you said about their respect during the anthems.
We are done with all the other sports that have turned political.
